Affordable scope with locking turrets?

Anybody got suggestions for an affordable scope with locking turrets. Preferably 2nd focal plane. My son is a lefty and that windage turret running on his back when he carrys it is a problem. Something in that $500 to $1000 range. Also thinking an exposed elevation and capped windage would work too.

Ziess Conquest V4 has some models with exactly what you're looking for. Europtic and Scopelist, who I understand are sister companies, have the "demo" sales quite often and they will fit into your budget. Every "demo" item I've purchased from either company has been brand new and sealed in the original box. Just their way of beating MAP pricing.

Hopefully, Meopta will have new scopes shipping to the US by mid-summer. $ for $, they are tough to beat. It's a shame they took 18 months away from the scope market after the company sold and reorganized. But good things come to those who wait.

I have 4 Meopta Optika, glass is excellent, positive turret clicks and thus far reliable…only negative is weight if that matters to you.

If you can spend a couple hundred more you could look for a used Nightforce NXS. NF NXS models are bullet proof and their tracking as well as zero stop is second to none. You can often find good clean used NF NXS 5.5-22x50 w/zero stops in the 1200 range sometimes less and used NF NXS 3.5-15x50 around the same price or even slightly lower but there's usually a lot more used 5.5-22's for sale.

In the 1000-1200 price range I'd buy a good clean used NF NXS over any new scope, in that same price range, that I can think of.

Speend another 4-500 and find a used nx8 sfp, I have had sb,kahles, march on my hunting gun, and honestly I like the nx8 better than all of them, capped windage, bombproof, excellent glass if you get the nx8 that wernt the first to come out, they did not have good glass, but they changed something in later models and the glass in mine is excellent, noticeably better than my nxs glass, 2.5-20 nx8 is what I have.
