As title says, anyone have any first hand experience on how much the difference is noticable?
New to thermal and sticking to a strict budget. My shots where I hunt are under 100yds.
I have thought of going the ts25-384 route for similar cost but I absolutely hate those cr123 batteries.
 
Just a thought--rechargeable cr123's are a good option. I ran them in a Bering r25 as a scanner for 4 yrs. and would get 2.0-2.5hrs from a set in winter in PA.
 
So no one has used the V2 320?
Not just the cr123 issue, but also future software updates. I’m sure the older thermals won’t get any now, and the V3 is out.

Still looking for first hand experience with the 320.
 
I have a 384 V1, I'd say good to 100 yds. 320 is just a bit smaller but also smaller FOV and higher base mag. I don't need the LRF of the V3. I got a dillo @ 50 yds with the 384, either base mag or 2x IIRC. Had to go to max mag with a 640 V2 to ID a rabbit @ 100. For hogs or yotes the 320 is probably OK. My 123 batts last a few hrs, not a big problem.
If an AGM, make sure it's from a good retailer, they had a semi stolen not too long ago.

I didn’t know about the truck theft, good to know. I was looking on eBay at some reputable sellers. Also considering used v1 384. A guy I know locally told me Rix s3 are really good but I’ve never heard f the company and would rather not drop $1500 on one.
 
My son found an old AGM 256 sitting around at his workplace and got some batteries and powered it up and it worked. He called AGM and they told him how to download the updates and what app to download. He put it on a 10/22 and rides around shooting coons, possums, and dillas. Heck, I rode around with him one night and for 50yd shots it’s a perfect little thermal. We can ID critters at 100yds easily.
 
I see Optics Planet has the v1 35-640 about the same price as the v2 25-384. Is there still a visual benefit of the older version?
