air rifle for squirrels

Now that you mention it, I remember about five years ago a coon came along with a few dogs behind. I shot him with my .20 career in the head several times. He was a tough customer maybe because he was being chased. The amazing accuracy and being a repeater make this possible sometimes. Have killed many many unmentionables with one shot even at night with these guns.

I have a woodstocked model of the cf-x ,it's the royale ,and a friend has the synthic black with 2 x7 bsa scope--check midsouthshooters supply for a great price.They were out of the cf-x and i opted for the royale,its longer than my 26" barreled varmint guns>>get the cf x the little bsa scope is nice for the money--very bright.

My gun will wallop a squirrel at 30 yd ,and birds also.I use the rws pointed pellets as they so far are most accurate.
I'm working in Florida presently and where i lived when i first arrived, was laiden with pest birds. I'd shoot out the window in the back bedroom and kill one after the next.
Your are on the right track ,fixed barrel ,and muzzle brake

Well, I went ahead and got the CF-X with the synthetic stock. It is a very nice looking gun. Got it with the BSA scope..great scope. Had to buy new rings though. Broke one of screws while putting it on. Took it out the other day...its a very good shooter. Killed many a sparrow, from all different distances. Really got to know how the gun shoots when I took it to a near by pond, and went after a few turtles. It is only a .177 cal., but it hits hard. It shoots harder then I first though. When I finally figured out how to hold on my shots, was consistantly hitting out to 40 yds. I could tell every hit, even if I had my eyes closed, by the POP of the pellet sriking thier heads. I am shooting some Wally World crosman hallowpoints, but would like the try the Crosman Premiers. Going to take it out to my lease for some mid-day squirle action this weekend. I will have to let you know how it performes there. Thanks for all your help.
 
I used to have a RWS pellet rifle I bought at either Cabela's or Bass Pro. (I can't remember), anyways, it was a .177 caliber pellet rifle (boasting over 1,100 fps) and I easily had killed over 200 squirrel with that gun. A .177 caliber pellet is plenty enough pellet and caliber to put a hurtin' on rabbits and squirrels.
 
I have a cheap little crossmen 760 XL and it as killed a whole lot of squirrels and rabbits.plus a few cats that thought they were gonna live in the woods out back.I know its a cheap one but when i lived in town we had a bad cat prob because of a empty house down the street.so i bought it cause it was qiut and on sale,that was 7 years ago and i still have and shoot it.hate to get rid of somthing that works good and was cheap to boot. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

they are filled with either a pump or a SCUBA tank, an hold around 3000 psi of air. they are more powerful then your typical CO2 or pump air gun.

I have 2 both Career 707 one in .22 and one in 9mm, the 9mm one will shoot a 90gr pellet at 820FPS, the .22 will shoot a 18gr pellet at 1260FPS.

you can see a lot of them at a store called pyramidair.com though there are a couple of online stores that have them.

i love my gamo silver shadow. super accurate. i use their ammo(s). there is a tool to make their pellets fit perfect.

i use it to humanely kill squirrels. trapped opossum and coon are tough/no-go... but i am in the city limits.
 
the talon ss ,no pumpin just shooting. I have shot the short barrel 22cal a lot and will guarntee it will kill a coyote @20 yds shot between the eyes and a bit high,also you can turn air down and shoot inside a barn or building without shooting a hole in the roof ,adjust volicity , the short barrel is a lot quiter than the other 2 that the barrel sticks out the end. just like shooting a 22 with a suppresor on it. I have shot several coyotes in snares and traps with one is how I know and had rifle set @25 yds and would back away about 20 steps so could hit right spot like all pelet guns it needs to be shot form about the distance it is sighted in @ to hit where is suppost to. I also have a beaman 177 cal breakover and it is good but since i have used the compressed air talon I am sold on them.
the thing I dont like about them they look like a weapon instead of a rifle.
