currently i have 3 (sold off a chunk to fund my ccw permit and pistols lol)

airgunhome, airgunadvice, pelletheadnetwork marauderairrifle etc. Best bet is to look around a few and search for the guns you are looking at, and see what is said about them. gatwaytoairguns is a great site, and the first I found with alot of info on alot of different guns.

Thanx for the input ya'll, Not much for airgun dealers around these parts but I guess it mite be because I'm new to it and aint in the know yet.

I was diggin around on pyramyds site for a little while but didnt have time to realty get into it.

Where are you at in TN? If you are close you an come over and shoot a few of mine! I've sold two of mine recently, but I've kept my two main hunting air guns.

I have two main hunting guns, and a couple that I can hunt with if I desire. The first one is a RWS 350 Magnum. It is a powerful air gun that will shoot all the way through a squirrel's head with ease. The other is a much less expensive and only slightly less powerful TF 89 from Compasseco.

Dan, one of the local guys just bought a TF 89 after shooting mine. He has been doing pest control in his backyard with it.

I have three others that I can use for hunting and have in the past. My Gamo Whisper, ironically, has a broken spring right now, but I like using it for squirrels and below. It is deadly accurate out to 40 yards (and maybe further). I prefer it for squirrel hunting while it is hot because it is light and easy to carry.

I also have a 40 year old Sheridan 5 mm Blue Streak. I got it when I was a little dude. It is STILL deadly accurate! I've killed so many squirrels and rabbits with it I've lost count. When I'm night hunting for raccoons and possums in the fall I carry it as a backup gun since I can leave it pumped up for hours. Second shots are hard with air guns so having another one with you when you are after the big stuff (possums, skunks, and raccoons) isn't a bad idea.

My other gun is a TF 99 underlever gun. While I can use it for hunting I haven't yet. While it isn't a low powered gun, it doesn't hit as hard as the TF 89 or the RWS 350.

That is where you get the TechForce air guns.

My others were bought used for from:

Here is a video of me shooting a rabbit in KS with a TF 89.

Here is a squirrel I shot in my backyard with my RWS 350. Trust me he was dead despite the gyrations. I hit him square in the fusebox!

Yep, dropped tons of squirrels, rabbits, p-dogs, g-hogs, crows, pigeons, coons, and possums over the years...all with airguns. Small game don't need tons of FPE. Hunting with airguns is all about getting as close as possible and sending that tiny slug where it belongs. Plenty of challenge and very satisfying hobby...

One of my favorites is .25 W&S Patriot

Another one is .25 Theoben Rapid

One more... 177 Weihrauch 100T

And last but not least .20 Weihrauch 97K

Looks like Gateway to Airguns is back up and going. I've still seen some issues on there, but at least it is working (mostly).

Atchman thats good of ya to offer sure nuff, I'd love to take ya up on that one day, I live about 60 miles west of Chatt. but I make it up to K-town sevral times a year.

Ambush, aint that the same gun in the pic from the camo post I put up ??? the pic you posted is a fine example of camo utilization, if your not carefull you'l set that gun down and wont be able to find it again.

I appreciate the info ya'll, I'm look'n forward to pick'n me out a air rifle. when I was a kid I had mine with me constantly, at first it was a old hand me down daisy that kinda looked like a red rider but was heavier built, what I wouldnt give to have it back for a keep sake, then I had a crossman that I carried from about 9 years old until I got a shot gun.

There are so many great air rifles. Some of them are so good you can hand them down to your children (if you have any). One of these days I hope to pass my Sheridan down to my son. I've had it for a long time. In time I hope he passes it to his.

Some of the nice RWS guns are along that line, but there are some really nice ones out there too. A top of the line Beeman (like a R9) is one of those style of guns.

There are so many guns I'd like to own! However, my wifey is "thinking" I have enough.

Nice guns guys. I would like to get a decent air rifle soon for rabbit and squirrel around my area but unfortunatly I would spend over double what you pay in the states. I looked at one in gander mountain in port huron for one. It was $99 for a none scoped modal (cant remember which one) but it shot 1100fps. I came back to Canada and went to my local gunshop and for him to get it to me, it was going to be $350

I have a Beeman R1 in 20 cal. The 20 cal. keeps energy better than a 177, but shoots flatter than a 22 or 25. I have had it a long time, and it is awesome. They aren't cheap, though. But, I think they are like optics, you get what you pay for. But, I am considering a cheap one for my kids to shoot.

The best place to ask questions would be a real airgun forum specializing in high quality arms. They will know both low cost, entry level airguns inside out as well as top dollar, high tech ones. Forums where everyone is happy about how great their $100 springer shoots may have nothing to offer to someone who has an advanced knowledge about sporting airguns already. For instance, what a Weihrauch shooter can possibly learn on Gamo or Chinese airgun forums? Absolutely nothing. If one progresses to the Weihrauch, Air Arms, Daystate, and Theoben levels, that means he ate those Gamos, Crosmans, Benjamins, and Daisies for breakfast L O N G time ago...

Atchman2 hooked me up and let me shoot some of his guns. I can't imagine a better gun than the TF 89 for a beginner that doesn't want to spend a lot of money. I'm very pleased with it. It's super accurate and has a lot of power. It would be on the top of my list if you're just getting in to airguns.

Did you go with the .177 or the .22 cal.?

I would love to have a pcp gun but just dont want to spend that kinda cash rite now.

I've been eyeball'n the crossman and benjiman nitrogen filled guns, ther not very pricey and should shoot hard enuff to hunt with and make a good back yard plinker.

Still diggin around to see what the people have to say about them first, I hate to waste money on a piece of junk only to break down later and buy what I should've had the first time.

May I suggest you stay away from those you mentioned. Those Nitros Crosman makes are a poor's man Theoben. Yes, they look cool and "reviews" are all positive, thanks to marketing strategies. The fact is, these are unreliable, so-so accurate, and they hold little resale value. You simply can not build a high quality gas-ram for that money. There is a reason good ones start from $650 and go all the way to $1300...

The thing is you don't need to spend a lot of money to get an accurate reliable air rifle for shooting squirrels, rabbits, and other small game.

My RWS 350 hits very hard and is also very accurate. While it isn't the highest quality gun, it is a great gun! On a recent American Airgunner, Paul Capello was shooting targets at 100 yards offhand with open sights with a RWS 350.

Air guns are just like anything else, you can spend as much or as little as you like on them. The high end guns are great! However, there are some cheaper guns that shoot well too. It is nice to have some local folks that own them that you can test shoot a few. For new folks a gun like a RWS 34 is perfect! Costs about $200 and is a classic gun.

I mean you can spend an easy $6,000 on a coyote gun! Get a custom shop gun and then one of the Sward whatever scopes and 500 worth of rings and mounts. However, you can also spend $500 and get a gun that will put them down pretty well too.
