Air rifles for squirrels ???

No one said that there are no decent inexpensive airguns...

RWS34 is one of them...

Or HW30S...

By the way, I was talking about gas-rams, since the guy had a question about Benjamin/Crosman Nitro. What RWS350 and Paul Capello have to do with any of it?

I dunno, maybe I had too many malted beverages when I was responding to the post.

I've never shot a gas ram gun, good OR bad. I'd be interested in trying both just to see how they shoot. I want one of the new Benjamin guns to see how they are, but I've heard mixed reviews.

You have some VERY nice air guns! I'm jealous of those

Had to many malted beverages, thats funny stuff, I gotta kick outta that.

Which benjiman are you referring to ?? I think thres is called the XL 1500 I think, I was poking around on pyramid air (I think it was) the othre day and it sounded like a good gun from what I read, its very simalar to the crossman it seemed.

The .177 version of that gun almost shoots TOO hard. It approaches the speed of sound with the lighter pellets. The .22 is just right and is now my favorite hunting air gun. When I point at a target I know it is going down with a hit in a vital location.

For the money, I don't think you can beat a TF 89 for a first hunting air gun. The price is great, and the gun is a great deal for the money. Sometimes you can get them for less than $125 depending on how Eric feels that day and whether he needs to sell some guns.

I did a home lubrication on mine, plus adjusted the trigger to how I like it. DON'T ever open a spring air gun unless you know what you are doing! They are dangerous! The TR 89 needs a special tool to compress its spring due to its design. I made one out of PVC pipe but never felt very comfortable compressing that big spring!

I had a .177 and a .22 both long ago. The .22 could reach out there an impressive distance and drop things.

The .177 was a lot of fun for target shooting, and squirrel-sized stuff, though.

My dog trapped a skunk under a pile of railroad ties once and I killed in with the .22 in close-quarter combat.

Avoid that, if at all possible. Mostly it's the smell, because they get upset after the first shot (and it took about 5).

the make stocks that can be put on the back and used as a poweradjuster by adjusting the tension in the hammer spring
they are nice but this thing is deadly as it is
