Onionskin, yes I did adjust the trigger myself. You have to pull the cocking lever all the way back and hold it there to get the wrench on the screw. Can't remember what wrench. If you get it to light the gun can fire just by bumping it. I chrono mine at 850 for the .20 and mark it then always have the option of cranking it up. I have setup a few of these for guys that fell in love after shooting this one.
I have one of the very first Shin Sung Career and quit counting at 20,000 pellets. Also quit counting kills at 6000. I also bought a later version when RWS bought rights to sell the Career. It was offered with a lifetime warranty. The trigger was not quite as sweet but it didn't have 20,000 pulls either. A friend bought it and is in heaven shooting it daily. Now they have the Eun Jin also that look very close with different magazines.
I also have had a Beeman Cow Magnum/Theoben Eliminator which was a well made powerful spring gun. The British Airgun Champ sent me a bunch of info on it and a free copy of his findings and opinions. I fried a scope on that gun in 5 shots once, and it had special scope mounts to handle the whiplash. Here is another easy to navigate airgun site. http://www.straightshooters.com/
 
20 yards is a feeble test for most any airgun. Off the steady stix thru a 4X I can keep 4-5 shot groups under half an inch at 35 yards and under an inch at 50 yards no problem. And that's using the .45 airgun. The .25 is ridiculously accurate.
Anyone here killed a coyote with an airgun? If not I hope to be the first real soon with my .45

Yes I have killed a coyote, a raccoon, skunks, and countless unmentionables. Have high hopes of luring another coyote in.
 
I had a few gamos but wasnt realy impressed .first one had problems (rough machining) and i got a replacment and sold that.I end up getting a nice conditon second hand fwb 124s and had it fully tunded by Beeman.Its toped off with a 3-12x40ao airgun scope and beeman mounts.wouldnt mind a Sumatra or FX pcp airgun.
 
have a hunter 440 with raptor PBA ammo shoots hair under an inch @ 50 i have a 3-9x40 air gun scope on it finished off a yote w/it that got hit by a car in front of my buddys house (pointblank of course)
 
I believe 10 meters is the Olympic airgun course distance.

I couldn't agree more...! I have a .308 Quackenbush PCP(3200psi precharge), it will shoot 2-4"@ 200yards if I do my part! Shoots 30cal carbine lead bullets. Very effective for most any small game.
It was custom built for Jim Chapman, who is an outdoors adventure and airgun hunting expert that writes for many airgun magazines.

It is very hard to get a new or even a used Quackenbush airgun so be prepared to pay more than what a custom rifle would cost. Often well over $1000! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

I have had an RWS model 36 in .177 caliber for a number of years. I originally put a BSA 2-7X32 air rifle scope on it, but eventually swapped that off for a Bushnell 4-12x40 AO scope recommended on one of the air rifle web sites.

Mine does a pretty good job and I have taken crows at the 35-40 yard range. It will do a number on squirrels and other furry critters just a little bigger than a squirrel if you get my drift.

Pellet selection is critical. I tried wad cutters, field points, and a host of others. My rifle shoots Crossman Premier domed pellets best with wadcutters coming in second. It is advertised as a 1000 fps rifle, but with the Crossman pellet (10.9 grains I think) the velocity is around 850 or so.

Pre charged is the way to go if you want quiet and have the $$. If you stick with a springer you are going to have to practice as they require a different shooting style to get really good. You have to hold your sight picture longer because the pellet takes longer to leave the barrel than on regular firearms and a little more loose "hold" lets the rifle do its forward/reverse recoil.

Actually the International air rifle, such as the Olympics is all shot at 10 meters as is standard NRA air rifle. The better air rifles will usually shoot 5 shot groups of .020" or less at 10 meters indoors.

I looked for a longtime and even talked to DennisQ... couldn't even get on the waiting list for a new one. Quackenbush airguns are extremely hard to find. Mine is the 20" carbine model and is the last gun built in the first series! Mine has the built in charging port and all newer ones have the screwin kind. I DON'T FORSEE IT BEING FOR SALE FOR A VERY LONG TIME!!!! Sorry! LOL /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yea I know you won't sell it. I just had to say it.

DAQ opened up his order list for the first time in like, forever, a couple weeks ago. It was filled up in like a half hour or something like that. There are people out there that have checked his order page daily fr a long time that missed it.

If anyone wants to know how to get on a list for a similiar custom big-bore airgun I can hook you up. He is 8 months out on his orders right now and just went into the big-bore business last year. So acting fast is advised.

This guy I'm speaking of is also the first to offer an air shotgun suitable for real-deal hunting to the public! His 20 gauge can use shot for small game, and also shoot 400 grain slugs for other stuff! Amazing.
