Even though I hardly ever use Bullseye anymore for any of my revolver cartridges I have found it to work well in both of my 9mm autos. 4.5 grains of the stuff will give you plenty of oomph to cycle the action of any modern auto yet be pleasant and accurate to shoot. I like it just fine. You will too I bet.

I run around 4.5-4.7grs of bullseye in my 40 with berries plated bullets and have had good luck with it for plinking.

It also meters great through my Hornady LNL AP.
I use Bullseye for my 38 special, but not for anything else. I do use LONGSHOT for my .40 loads. My load of choice is 9.0gr. with a 155gr. Berry's plated bullet. I have not had time to chrono it yet. The box of Berry's sez not to exceed 1250fps. I am getting good groups and loaded up 2000 rounds about 2 months ago.

It meters very well in my Lee auto disk and also in my Pacific powder measure. One of the old stanby's for target loads. I use it in 38/357, 40, 45ACP, & 44 mag. Use it for what it is, a light/target load powder and it will serve you well. It is not bulky so make sure that you do not double charge.

For some reason I double charged one row (5 rounds) of my block of 50 loads of BE in .357 Magnum cases. As this was a target load of around 3 grains of powder the 6 grain double charge still did not hurt anything but it did make me well aware how easy it was to double charge a case when using such a light charge of powder. Bullseye has its place and has been an excellent pistol powder for many decades. I just don't use it in anything that might allow a double charge anymore. Too unnerving.

Thanks for all the replies. I should have specified in my original post, for those of you who shoot USPSA, I'm trying to make major power factor with my .40. I'm shooting 180 grain molly coated lead flat points so need at least 925 FPS (which would be 166 power factor, 165 is min power factor for major). From what I have read on several sites is that the velocity is somewhat sluggish with this powder, which may be indicative of the earlier comments on here about it being a nice soft, plinking load. I need it to not be a soft load
I'm using a Lee Pro 1000 progressive press but sounds like it should meter ok. As for double charges, hard to do with this press since it auto-indexes but I am very anal about loading with it as an extra safety precaution.

yup, I can't find Power Pistol in a 200 mile radius of me either. I still have a little but that will be gone by end of month. Have contacted Alliant 2 times same story each time. Same old letter from 2010. Laterly, they have put out ads in NRA, and other reloading magazines about BE-86 so i e-mailed them where to get it. They said it is not to the public at this time!!
