Alpha dog user question

Thinking about getting an Alpha dog e-caller. I watched the reviews but my question is, when you use the professional option to call does it automatically pause between series? Thank you for your feedback

Full disclosure I have not used a primos alpa dog. I do have some buddies who have and have not heard great things. Mostly what I’ve heard is “going to buy a fox pro next season” just trying to help out so don’t get offended. I’ve run a lot if fox pros and killed my share of coyotes. What’s driving the decision for your e caller purchase? Other then the obvious of calling coyotes of course

I have yet to buy a Fox Pro yet.

Read as many reviews as you can, study the remote and see if you will like it. Have five callers that I use, 2 Minaskas(M-1 Bandits), 2 Foxpros(Crossfire & CS-24) and a JS(GB-2 inexpensive remote caller). My least favorite are the Foxpros, I hate to have to scroll for sounds, at least these two have 10 pre-sets and a numeric keypad so I can just punch in the number of the sound I want. They all call coyotes just fine and all will run on AA alkaline as I don't always have a place to charge a caller.

the TX 1000 remote solves that problem. by far the best remote ive ever used.

The TX-1000 beyond the 4 pre-set you have to scroll to find a sound at least on the 500/505 remote you have 10 presets and you just have to punch in the number of the sound you want and not scroll through a list to find your sound.

theirs a favorites screen you can populate with up to 50 sounds. the first 5 can be set as presets. in reality im not using more then 3 sounds on a stand and they usually don't change much. probably most guys can say the same. if im being totally honest i have over 300 sounds and i kill 90% of my coyote between 2 main sounds.i always kinda laugh at my self for that. i really could coyote hunt with a 3 sound capacity call but i gotta have the 600$ 1000 sound call of course

Lithium batteries cost six times the cost of a alkaline and at the max only four times the run time, no brainer there plus they have half the shelf life of an alkaline.

I dont have a problem with deep cold temps.

Beyond the 5 presets you still have to scroll your favorites for a sound, you just have a smaller list to scroll through.

I keep about 15 sounds handy and they cover most of my calling.

thats not hard. i would suggest extra rechargeable batteries that are charged before leaving the house.

you have to carry extra batteries if you are using alkaline. rechargables don't weigh any more or take up any more space than alkalines. might as well take rechargables.

good name brand rechargeable batteries will run a caller longer than alkaline batteries will.

good alkaline batteries aint cheap and you will go through a bunch.

change over to rechargeables and you will be better off.

Yes it has pauses between each sound. Sometimes 30 seconds and sometimes 2 minutes. I've been using this call for at least 5 years using Eneloop rechargeable batteries and it does great. The remote is simple and easy. The sounds are ok. I've killed alot of dogs and bobcats behind the alpha pro.

Same here: It does pause between sounds. The caller itself funtions very well. I have called in coyotes, Bobcats, crows, hawks and owls. About the only thing I have not called in are foxes. The remote has a favorits file in which to place your most used sounds plus you can program it to play a certain sound after a kill to bring in another animal such as pup distress for coyote. I only use rechargable batteries and carry spares loaded into a battery case for quick change out. I will only use a set for 3-4 hours before changing for best performance. I currently own 3 Alpha Dogs: one is a back up and another for parts. I have not needed any parts from the unit designated for parts but do not want to be caught wanting in the middle of the season.
