So the ol lady was giving me [beeep] about eating right and exercising and drinking less beer and pop. So the smart [beeep] that I am, I told her that'd I make an agreement with her if she bought me a Nightforce NXS! Well.... I figured it'd be a topic ender, instead we get into a list of things that I got to continue to do. So it boiled down to me having to pay half and do what she asks. Guess what I'm asking is this a good idea or am I gonna regret this? Haha.
 
I'd have compromised for a Vortex Viper PST and kept the beer, red meats, and one soda a day with moderate exercise. You gotta learn to negotiate better.

Enjoy your new scope, at least convince her carrying it in the field for use is part of the exercise deal

I did however get her convinced that dragging a coyote or 2 out of a stand is one heck of a workout so whenever I go calling it counts as a workout session for the week. Guess I'll just havta have my victory beers when I'm hunting lol.. Is there a better scope for that kind of bargain?

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa! You have to do what she asks sounds way too open ended. I hope you kept it limited to the healthier stuff and not things like having to get pedicures with her and such...Lol.
 
Look at it this way! When you kick the bucket early she will sell your stuff for almost nothing or give to her new young husband!! Go the healthy way and be a pain in the butt for years!! WIN WIN!!

27 is a great age. You should have your first divorce under your belt real soon. That is when things get better. Marriage can be tough but if you keep your chin up they eventually dissolve.

Having been married three times for a total of almost 50 years, I've learned that there is really no negotiation with the other half....You either do it your way, or her way...Just remember, it's easier/better to ask for forgiveness than get permission...

If you want the scope, get it... If you want to get healthier, then do it...But the two are not negotiable...
 
Buy the Nightforce and be done with it. My x told me one time she was cutting me off. I told her you aint cutting me off your just cutting yourself off.
 
Just think of what you could afford if you put that beer money in a jar and saved it for a year. I quit drinking pop 6 months ago and lost 7 pounds the first week because of it.

Guess I'm just different. I have expensive tastes in my hobbies which are not limited to guns, scopes and hunting. A 6 pack a night or every other night beer habit costs too much money and I can't afford that!
 
I think Furhunter has the right thought process, You need to be focusing your expenditures on the correct priorities.
Deer jerky and water until the NF is yours.
