American Hunter & Shooter's Association???

Has anyone ever heard of the American Hunter and Shooter's Association? I haven't until today, and it makes me wonder about what type of organization this is. I wasn't very impressed with what I saw. Today I watched an interview on CNN where the president (I think it was) of this organization was interviewed. If I understood right, he used to be a part of the NRA but has since left them. His reasoning was that NRA won't budge on the gun issue and just sit down and talk, like he has, to such people as Mayor Bloomberg of New York and other would-be gun banners. Hats off to the NRA is my response to that statement.

Of all things, this guy supports the idea of gun-buy-back programs and doesn't see anything wrong with it, despite the fact that it has never worked and is nothing more than a "feel-good" program. The anchor woman on CNN said that nobody needs an AK 47 to hunt with. Hummmm, maybe all of us AR owners don't need an AR to hunt with either. Do I hear pre-election "gang up on gun owners" plans in the making? Seems that I do. And, I don't recall the Constitution mentioning that I must "NEED" a gun before I can have one. I thought it was all about personal liberties and freedoms and the fact that I "WANT" it and the Consitution says I can "HAVE" it.

Just curious about this organization and if anyone knows anything about it. One thing is for sure, we all had better be on the right side of voting this November and in 2008. I fear what might happen if the liberals get control of congress and / or the Presidency. Just ask Africa Predator what happened to gun rights in South Africa once the new government took over. It's frightening.

Good Shooting

I think the Dem/libs are gearing up for another anti-gun push in the name of national secutity. "don't let them radicals/terrorist/conservatives have guns they may try to hurt us" Hog wash that they used to get the AWB complete witha media circus and regged congressional hearings with lots of fresh faced young people who may or may not be truthful, with many many horror stories about the harm comeing from firearms in general but some kinds in particular.
Even some rigged pro gun moderates who preach compromise, and how evil, and anti American the NRA really is.
I never heard of this hunting and shooting thing and i have been into this sport for over forty years as an adult and longer than that if you include my time as a young person.
Heck I got my first single shot .22 when I was seven got my first deer when I was twelve.
Back then hunting was a tradition that was cherished and past on to the young, now they make up fantasy crap about how smart animals really are like people and how well they get along with each other just like people.

It seems like I got a notice about that group and they are actually nothing more than another front for the anti's but with a twist. They figured if they would have a pro-sportsmen name that it would get support from some and sound unbiased to the general public.
From the interview on CNN last night it sounds like the warning was correct.
I can't remember the specific names but the board of directors of the AH&SA are mostly the same people who head up the other antigun orginizations.

I've not heard of this one yet, but it puts me in mind of when Americans For Gun Safety appeared, pretending to be a pro-gun org. A little turned up the fact that it was set up & run by several people very well known in the anti gun side of things.

They claimed to support our gun rights & not be for gun control, but in questioning there was no suggested form of gun cotrol laws tha they would not agree to.

This may well be another shot at the same approach.

I saw the program on the Communist News Network.
They are phoneys and are a front for gun control. Just listening to their fake spiel anyone can see through their facade. This is a front for the Liberals to eventually open the door for the UN efforts to grab guns from Americans.
They must be bombarded with e-mail telling them we all can see through their facade and will not put up with it.
Come on guys let's give them the hell fire they deserve.. They represent hunters and Shooters?? MY A$$

There is a new national organization calling itself the American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA). According to this new group, extremists groups who defend the second amendment as it was written are threatening the future of gun ownership and hunting. (Meaning the NRA, GOA, JPFO, SAS and others.)
The following is a quote from their website: "Moreover, an overwhelming majority of hunters support proposals like background checks to purchase guns, keeping military style assault weapons off our streets and the elimination of cop killer bullets." "In recent years, extreme political positions purporting to support gun rights have jeopardized our sport and have hurt the image of responsible gun owners. Unless the sporting community can become unified behind an organization that fights for safe and responsible hunting and shooting practices and sensible gun ownership, future generations may be unable to participate in and enjoy the shooting sports."

As we looked further into this obvious ruse, we found that the President of the AHSA Foundation was none other than John Rosenthal, Cofounder of Stop Handgun Violence (SHV). If you read his biography on the AHSA website, it fails to mention his association with SHV. It also fails to mention that SHV has supported every anti-second amendment rights bill since the organizations creation.
Stop Handgun Violence was a major supporter of Chapter 180 of the Acts of 1998. As our members are aware, that legislation has been responsible for taking the rights away from nearly 1,000,000 lawful gun owners. The result of which has been a near 50% increase in violent related gun crimes and a 300% increase in fatal accidents. SHV was also a major supporter of the Massachusetts Attorney Generals fraudulent regulations on handguns.

The facts are obvious, the anti-civil rights radical agenda and the failed social experiment of crime control through the persecution of lawful citizens has forced such groups to hide their true agenda. These groups are losing public support and are desperate to regain a political foothold. The AHSA is apparently trying to copy a ploy from John Kerry's failed Presidential bid and camouflage who they really are.

Please let all of your fellow gun owners and sportsmen know about this fraudulent organization.

Democrats set up fake organizations to support gun control policies
Democratic Leadership Council use PR firm to push more Gun Laws

A Washington based PR Firm called DCS - Internet Advocacy Group thats used by a list of who's who in the Democrat party as well as the official PR firm for the Democrat leadership Council (DLC) that Sen. Hillary Clinton is the 'Chair' member as well as reportedly hand pick DCS to do ALL of the DLC PR work.

DCS Has register a bogus 'Pro-Gun' sportsmen group in the attempt to make it appear as hunters and trap shooters are in favor of Assault weapon 'bans as well as other anti gun related issues.

By creating this made up group called The American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA), who will inevitably be used in future Democrat led anti gun campaigns in the near future as so called 'expert' witnesses or a 'sane' voice of sportsmen. just so the anti gun democrats can grandstand for gun control non-issues via their willing accomplishes in the press. I'd imagine the closer we get to the '08' presidential election the more (AHSA) will be in the news.

Dick Morris , former Clinton PR man has stated numerously how the Democrats and Sen. Hillary have personally created made up Internet based advocacy groups repeatedly in the past to drum up false public support to site at their press conferences and Senate hearings, just so the Democrats will get their names put out in the news. According to Morris, During the Clinton administration there was a brainstorming group under then first lady Hillary's oversight inside the white house who did this kind of fabricated PR all the time.

So who did DCS make as the head of their bogus gun group, well none other than John Rosenthal, Co founder of Stop Handgun Violence (SHV). SHV has supported every anti-second amendment rights bill since the organizations creation. The personal pet anti gun group of the anti-gun Democrats.

The following background on all involved was uncovered.

[1.] The bogus Pro gun group: The American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA) is located at: 600 Pennsylvania Ave SE, suite 200, Washington, District of Columbia 20003 As listed on their website and on their domain name registration.

20003 As listed on DCS website and on their domain name registration.
DCS website is located here: http://dcscongressional.com/

[2.] The Democrat leadership council http://www.dlc.org/

Thanks danurve,

Your information is very enlightening, to say the least. I think we all need to recognize a wolf in sheep's clothing, but it's not always evident at first. Thanks so much for the information. I hope others will take note.

Good Shooting

Here is a letter I sent to CNN this evening. Wouldn't hurt for others to let them know what's on your mind.

"Yesterday on CNN, channel 2 on my cable, I witnessed a woman reporter interview a man from the organization called American Hunters & Shooters Association. It was obvious to see that the two were in agreement on the topic of gun control, and that caught my attention right away. Rarely do I ever see a hunting or shooting group and a CNN reporter on the same side of the Second Amendment issue.

The problem I have with it is CNN's continued, in my opinion, one-sided approach to the Second Amendment. Reporters jump all over issues that might put in jeopardy the First Amendment, but are so biased when it comes to the Second, in my opinion.

Also, the president of American Hunters and Shooters Association just happens to be John Rosenthal, the guy who was the founder of Stop Handgun Violence. He is no friend to gun owners, again in my opinion - and in the opinion of most that know about him. Isn't it ironic that his headquarters, the DCS Internet Advocacy Group, and the Democrat Leadership Council are all in the same building and practically next door to each other? Hmmm!

Could this be an organization that is designed to help the Democrat's political agenda? In my honest judgement, that is not news to CNN.

Gun owners in America are not idiots as some wish to think, and we are not easily fooled by such tactics. The gig is up, so to speak.

Would be nice if CNN would just report the truth without playing games or being biased.

Thank you for listening.

Have a nice day.
