ammo storage? how do you do it?

Yes, and ammo is not as fragile as everyone seems to think. I keep a lot of it in MTM boxes.

Some I keep in GI ammo cans - not because they need the sealing, but because the cans are convenient to stack and carry.

People that worry about their ammo all the time need to remember this - it is made to be used in the worst places in the world - it will do fine in the arctic, in the desert, and the tropical jungle - just keep it away from stuff that will corrode it, just like you would protect your pistol.

I have paper shot shells that are 50 years old, and were stored in garages, attics and damp basements - it shoots fine.

It's not a good idea to put large amounts of ammo or powder in a sealed gunsafe, your making a bomb. A lockable cabnet, or closet is all you need. If your worried about theft.

I use a lot of Ziplock freezer bags to store .223 ammo, fifty to the bag. When I shoot up a MTM box of fifty, I switch the empty brass with the loaded ammo. It saves buying so many plastic ammo boxes. I like the MTM boxes that are the size of a GI 50 cal. can. They don't rust.
