An angry american teen

America today is becoming nothing more then a land slide. Teens today are trying to be who they really aren’t. How many times have you been shopping and seen “gangsters” or what about the punk/emo kids. I’m sick and tried of reading or seeing on the news “teen gets shot” or what about “teen treating on myspace gets arrested”. Kids today think that violence is a every day part of life.

How many times do we see on CNN about celebrity’s caught doing drugs or showing there twat to the whole world to see? What about when Anna Nicole died? There was more news coverage on that then the war in Iraq and U.S. soldiers were dieing.

I’m sick of what my country is becoming. I’m sick of the leaders that we have. I’m sick of them forgetting about the backbone of the country. It breaks my heart seeing what’s going on. I sit here thinking about what its going to be like for my kids, grandkids.

I’m only 17 years old. I may not know a lot. Hell not even the smartest people knows it all. When I get older I want to have a life. Move out, live on my own, get married, maybe have kids. We truly do not know what tomorrow is going to bring. We do NOT have any good leaders. I’m truly angry at my country and what it has become. I’m truly sorry for the next generations who have to put up with this [beeep].

What is it going to take for the country to get back the way it was? It wont, we are digging a hole deeper and deeper. Today T.V., internet and some parents are teaching kids that sex is ok, that abortion is ok, and that guns are bad. Guns do not kill people.

I really do not know why people think that guns are bad. I think it comes back to the media. How they make guns sound bad. They make guns sound like the most evil thing that’s ever been on this earth. People are going to kill other people. Its been this away way before that guns hell even gun powder were invented.

I’m truly angry with what I see in coming. I think that there will be a all out ban on guns/ammo. The [beeep] politics are making of what used to be the land of the free. Every law they pass takes away some of our freedom.

Ryan,
Thats why so many young people support Ron Paul. This old guy agrees with you BTW. Just an hour ago my wife came home from work and she was telling me about one of her co-workers that had been having some problems with their son. Suddenly, a big change in has attitude for the positive. Why? He told his folks that he figured out there was only one leader who really cared about his future and that was Ron Paul, so he joined his campaign. This is happening all across America. Young people are a lot smarter and perceptive than most adults give them credit for. You are OK Ryan, I have a lot of respect for you and Getfoxy. It is your future thats on line, stand up for it, do whats right, let the rest of the crowd go straight to Hell.

Ryan, you and other youngsters like you, are the hope for the future. Our hope for the future. You haven't let the artificial lifestyles, promoted by TV and the movies, cloud your vision of reality. Why more kids your age don't care about anything beyond "being popular" is something we "old folks" just can't understand.

Fifty years ago your outrage would have instantly filled an auditorium wall-to-wall with other teens who shared your beliefs. Today, you'd be lucky to have any company in that same auditorium.

Don't give up. Get every single bit of free education you can. Keep informed. Get involved in the political process at whatever level you can enter at. Go to your Party's headquarters and volunteer. You'll soon run into other teens like yourself, with a head on their shoulders too. Just don't give up. We're all counting on you, and others like you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

the real answer to why America is going the way it is...... America as a country has been and is currently kicking out and forcing out and forgetting about GOD. over and over the Bible illustrates how Israel turned their back on God and how God turned His back on them. substitute America for Israel and its basically the same story.......
its just a matter of time before we are punished. what will save America is a revival and true repentance as a nation. i have kids your age and i fear for thier future, but we have raised them up to love God and in the end that is all that matters. i know that if we are around long enough for them to have thier own families that my grandchildren will love and serve God. in the big scheme of things im not worried. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Ryan, You are wise beyond your young age. Thank God there are teens like you out there!!!!

Thanks for your kinda words guys. I'm just sick of what my generation is becomeing.

I'm no angel, I'v had my ups and downs on life. Smoked a blunt or 2, poped pills. Drank alot of beer, but I stoped all of it but drinking. I saw were my friends were ending up (juvie, drug rehab) I stoped over 4 months ago.

I used to be popular at school. I got sent to an aulturnative school this year do to the lack of academic proformence. I'v turned my life around. I got sick of it all. Being sent to an aulturnative school is the best thing thats happend to me.

Do I miss my few true friends, being popular, seeing other people everyday? your dam right I do. I know when I get older and look back on all the dumb stuff that I did. I'll think how stupid it was.

Like i said im no were perfect. No one on earth is. I'v got my [beeep] in order now I think /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Ryan, You're going to do great things. I wish I had 1/2 your wisdom when I was your age. By making an effort now you are on your way to a better life for yourself.

Ryan. I have kids your age and we are looking at tough times. There's been some good ideas on here for you to focus your attention on. I'm just teaching my kids to be self sufficient and not be to worried about anything else. If it wasen't for special interests and money this country could maybe turn around. Since your on this site you must be a hunter. Get into what you like doing and enjoy life or try and fight the battle. Just don't take it to serious and have a little fun, like every day.

The lack of religion, God, etc, is the number one reason. The second and most often overlooked is our culture.

Media violence, video game violence, sex ed. classes in 4-6th grades, pro abortion, etc etc etc. The list goes on and on and on. Culture is the biggest thing that's changed.
Kids spend so much time on the internet unsupervised that you can imagine what they can get into. A somewhat computer literate person can find more than they need to know on the net, heck the internet is like wal-mart, "you can get anything."

I am only 30 years old and when I was growing up the worst word a kid could hear on tv was the word [beeep]. Now you hear several other choice explicits on every day tv, like it's no big deal. Every kid has a cell phone, tv in their room, ipod, xbox/ps3, internet access at their fingertips. Teachers and schools and doctors have a medicine to medicate anything or anyone. We have this new recorded high of kids with ADHD/ADD etc. (maybe it's the 40+ hours of tv they watch every week) And we wonder why things are the way they are.

Another huge factor is parents do not parent anymore. They try to be their friend. Some kids just need an arse whooping, but you can't do that because your kids tells someone, who calls cps, who calls law enforcement, who then have H&W investigate wether your fit to be a parent. Your own kids can sue you, have you arrested etc. Where does one draw the line?

We have more single mother families/single father families, lesbian/gay families, a vast majority have families have two working parents just to make ends meet. We are a nation ready to help everyone else, but we can't even help ourselves.

Our country is ran by a "hypocracy," not a "Democracy!" We rely heavily on imports from other countries, outsourced work for cheaper labor/wages, that if one day they all decided to say "screw you," we literally would be. Were not even a self-sufficent Country.

I look at my 5, 3, and 5 week old boys and I wonder what life will be like for them in 5-10 years. I wonder why we can't say the pledge of allegiance, or have the 10 commandments in school. I wonder why the media, the goverment blame guns as the problem. Many of you remember when you would have your guns in your trucks at school. Guns are partly a foundation in why were where we are today.

But heck you take some zoned out 15 year old kid, who plays R rated video games 40 hours a week, throw in some ritalin, that he takes for ADD that he really doesn't have, but has a focus issue. You train that kid with his 8 fingers and his two thumbs to play violent, killing video games and throw in the violence on tv, movies, the school he goes too, the bully down the street and were building our own zombie nation. How many of kids involved in school shootings played sports, boy scouts, cub scouts, went to church/youth group, how many of them were a part of a structured environment? I bet not many if any at all. Blame it on the cause, not the mythical melting pot of guns alone.

So I agree 100% with the this original post, and I hope you can find a cause a driving force to attempt to put change into place for your sake and mine. Because as of now only God can help/save us all.

Sorry for the rant......I am tired of being tired of the bs we do daily to ourselves.

Well said Sureshot77!!!!!!!! Not necessary to apologize for the rant, you are dead right. I wonder when the good guys in this country are going to say, "enough is enough" and do something about it? Maybe never huh? I don't know.

Bad, lazy parents(that are afraid to discipline their own children) raising dumba$$ kids..plain and simple.

Reminds me of a trip my son (age 42) and I took down to Los Angeles to pick up some furniture, and on the way back, was trying to find some decent music on the radio. Finally found a "oldie-oldie station" (40-50-60's), which was right up my alley, so to speak. I could understand the words of the songs, and of course back then, 99% of them were Love Songs. My son just looked at me and laughed when he heard me singing along. After abit, I looked at him and said, "you know...I grew up in a much simpler time, compared to now". He looked at me and said "yes". With all the booze, drugs, gangs now around the country, no wonder the state of the country is what it is. With our leaders of the nation involved in Sex scandals almost every day, there are no true leaders to shine up too. I have one grandson that has been a problem, and no amount of talking too seems to make a difference, either by his folks, his grandparents or the police. Someday, I'm afaid he's gonna be 'Bubba's' friend in jail, and he'll not survive. I am just glad I didnt grow up in this day of age.

Im speaking on behalf of the war here. When we go into a place like that the media needs to stay out. DO what needs to be done and forget it. Media is the problem with everything today. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I agree, well said. my wife and i decided that our kids would not attend public schools so we enrolled them in private school. that lasted 1 year mainly due to cost but there were some other factors also. ok, time for home school. try that in the peoples republic of commiefornia. so we moved to oregon, things are alot easier here. we also decided that to do homeschool that our output had to be less than our income so the wife could stay home. no tv, no video games, no cell phones, no new cars or payments or credit cards. no un-nessesary stuff. we live comfortably on what i make on 30-40 hours a week. (hvac installer) now for the braggin part.
my 16 year old daughter aced her first year at the local community college and has several scholarships waiting for her. she basically has a full ride but still needs to decide what she wants to do. she's probably going to do one more year at the cc then major in forestry/law enforcement.
my 14 year old son is so smart its scary. he loves calculus but thats way past our level so hes basically teaching himself. hes also still at that dorky 14 year old boy stage.
i guess my point is spend as much time as you can with them and love them all you can. for us, church is also a major ingredient. there are no laws (yet) that say government mandates how you raise your kids. hopefully in a few years my kids will be able to make a difference for the better.

greg, as far as doing something and saying enough is enough, i feel the same as you do. calling your reps or local leaders is a waste of time. they dont care. so is voting. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif
i wish i knew the answer
