Hell yeah, I been looking at shooting one during the day with a shotgun is like shooting 5 or 6 at night with thermal. Shooting one with thermal is getting to be like heating up leftovers in the microwave. Congrats

Was issued both and have owned both over the years. Carbine is really fun to shoot, but not quite up to the accuracy of the Garand, IMO. Somewhere in my mid 50's the front sights on both sprouted extra limbs, forcing exile to the gun safe.
But, happily there is a workaround (no drill solution for both). Square D mount & Millet Red Dot replaces rear sight on carbine.

Had base milled to mount optic on the Garand.

Spoils their looks, but keeps 'em in the game.
