I was in a outdoor store today looking at a couple pistols that Im really wanting. The guy gives me both of them and then tells me that he likes one more than the other, hands down! So... just for shits and giggles I play along and ask why he likes that one so much more. He comes back with, "because its more finiky."

??? huh

Just thought id share! Hope everyone is having a good one and get a few good laughs of your own!

I went to a local store the other day, and the guy at the counter and listened to the employee tell a customer that's new to guns that there is no such thing as WSSM calibers, Just WSM calibers. The customer asked what the differance was, and got a load of BS from an uninformed wanna be gun expert.

At the last gunshow, two super dorks were at a table selling a few guns. One rifle in particular, 221FB, Remmy action, 23" full bull barrel (1 1/4 diameter), wally world scope and a choate stock. $2900.00... Are you shetting me? I ask about the barrel, they were unsure of maker. They said they were asking that much because other people do. I said ya, but their rifles are probably worth it. They finally admitted they had $450.00 in the rifle. I said, ask $900. and you still doubled your money. I saw the same rifle on Arms List and they have dropped the price to $2500, it now has a Shilen barrel and is accurate out to 500 yds. What can I say????

I have heard that only AR rifles have twist rates. Looking at a rifle and when I asked if he knew the twist that was the answer I got.

I have a ruger 30-06 that is flat out reliable, accurate, and because of it, boring as all get out. I have other rifles I like better because it's more exciting when they work right

It takes all kinds and I like quirky myself.

Ok, I will chime in. My friend just picked up a S&W M&P15A. We did our research on line and with our local FFL to see what was legal in CA as well as handle one of his. Well, we went to Cabelas cuz the price was right and the guy @ Cabelas said none of em were legal in CA. Not true. He also told us that he didnt know the TR nor did he know the difference between the 3 modles he had on the floor show room. We asked if the bbls were all chrome lined, he did not know. We asked if we could mount a scope on the carry handle, he did not know. We asked him if we could shoot 5.56 out of a .223 chamber, he did not know. (you cant) you can shoot a .223 from a 5.56 but not the other way around. We already knew all the answeres but wanted to test this guy a bit. This is Cabelas, hundreds of guns andd this guy didnt know JACK! I also asked another guy a few questions about rimfire ammo and he had to read the info off the box...LMAO!!!!

I was looking at a Ruger 380 LCP, private party sale. Guy was wanting to do it all on the up and up, gonna record my drivers license, CC Permit and all. Wanted to meet at Gander Mountain to make the swap, which all made sense up to that point. He wigged out when I told him I wasn't a resident of the state of Florida. Told me I couldn't even buy a gun in the gun store here... I didn't even bother trying to explain the law to him! I'm just going to go to the local gun shop and buy it.

I haven't checked Floridas laws, but i do know that most states do not allow a non-resident to purchase handguns.. Long guns may be purchased if you live in an adjoining state..

The adjoining state thing is not set in stone.

FFL's have a big book of regs considering out of state gun sales to non resi's

It pretty much boils down to the laws of what is legal and what is not in your home state.

I have bought guns on vacation a number of times with no probs.

In everything else there are bound to be exceptions esp within the occupied commie pig states.

Store company policies may also play a big factor in the sale to non resi's too.

I think that you are misinformed about this. I have shot thousands of rounds of 5.56 ammo through my various .223 rifles over the years with no problems of any kind. True, the pressures of some of the GI ammo is sometimes a bit higher than standard .223 stuff is, but over the last 40 years have never once heard of any issues doing it.

Not saying that I couldn't be wrong, but I checked federal regs, and private party long gun sales between residents and non-residents, there are no restrictions. Handgun sales between residents and non-residents require only that the transfer be handled through an FFL.

Florida has no regs prohibiting sales to non-residents that I've been able to find.

And, Florida honors my ND Concealed Carry Permit.

Good place to start researching... http://handgunlaw.us/ They provide a lot of links to state and federal resources, along with a list of CC Permit reciprocity, and a good deal more info.

I would be very interested in reading the specific reg.. I was under the impression that I cannot buy handguns in Utah, as I reside in Wyoming.. If this is untrue I'd like to know.

I tried buying a revolver in Utah, (borders NV). No dice. I could pay for it but had to have it shipped to a local NV FFL for transfer. I've purchased rifles before out of state without an issue.

Keep in mind this is a Glock dealer I am talking about.

A week and a half ago I purchased a Glock 20 SF, from a
local Glock dealer. When we were discussing the model I
asked for to look at a "small frame" Glock, in a model 20 or 21
preferably. The gun shop guy corrected me by saying, "Slim
Frame". I replied, "No I believe I am correct the SF in the
model nomenclature refers to "Short Frame". He wanted to
argue and I said, "Whatever, can I see a SF model". I ended
up ordering the Model 20 SF(10mm Auto). Yesterday I took
delivery of it, and again I was talking to a fellow customer,
about the SF model, referring to it as the "Short Frame",
and the gun shop guy corrected me again. This time a fellow
Glock owner, and regular customer, swooped in and corrected
the gun shop guy by saying, "No SF means Short Frame", and
commenced to show the gun shop guy why it is a short frame
versus a slim frame. THIS IS A GLOCK DEALER THAT BRAGS UP
THAT FACT! I am thinking of looking for another Glock dealer
that actually knows Glock nomenclatures.

He was selling a guy a new DPMS AR-15 rifle, and it was
extremely difficult to watch. I could of gotten a sore
arm from throwing BS flags on this guy. Oh well, as long
as they keep selling me guns, I can ignore the BS that
dribbles out of their mouths.

Squeeze

My local gun shop has a woman who I usually deal with.. She is vetry knowledgable.. But I expect that in Wyoming..

I may have been mis informed. When I bought my AR-15 (Eagle Arms Lower/Colt Upper w/Nato BBL). It had a NATO 5.56 bbl on it and I was told that I could shoot .223 from it but was lucky it was chambered in 5.56 cuz if it was a .223, all I could shoot out of it was .223 and not 5.56.....I was told this by an Armorer @ the Carson Armory in Mound House NV when I bought my AR. Thanks for setting me straight. Just goes to show you, even an Armorer can get it wrong......I dont know who to believe anymore
