Any .300 blackout bolt rifles out there?

Just curious to see what you all may have. When I first saw the cartridge a few years back I scratched my head and said "What for?".

My curiosity and interest was kindled about a month ago. Thought it might make a good cartridge for my 8 year old daughter to deer hunt with next season. Starting reading up on it, and ended up buying a Ruger American Ranch Rifle in .300 blackout.

Now I understand the following. Wow! It's SO easy to load for, and even more fun to shoot.

When I first got the RARR it was shooting the factory Remington UMC 125gr bullets into 3/4" at 100 for 3 shots.

So far my most accurate loads are 125gr Nosler BT and 110gr Barnes TAC-TX. Both with Lil Gun and wolf primers. Yesterday both shot 1/2" 3 shot groups at 100.

The gun wears a VX-R 2-7 with German #4. Perfect for woods hunting in Georgia.

So, what do you have?
 
I have a home brewed 16" AR in .300 BLK. CMMG barrel and other assorted, run of the mill parts. 5 shot groups of the Remington ammo prints at just about an 1".

Remington makes a 700 action rifle in .300 BLK that has gotten decent reviews.
 
Although I toyed with the idea of one I could not really figure what I wanted it to do, that couldn't be done already if you roll your own. For guys who don't reload it fills a spot, although a small one at that.
With that I have shot a suppressed one with subsonic ammo. Very accurate at 250 yards and so quiet, we were all laughing.
 
Have one in an AR....accurate little bugger. They are great if you reload, if not they are pricey to shoot and the ammo selection is very limited.


Not sure why it would be a popular bolt rifle round though, not sure how much it really offers that the .308 Winchester doesn't....the opposite can't be said.

Exactly, just started to hand-load subsonic for my 308 with Trail Boss. So far so good, haven't stuck one yet.
Finding subsonic factory rounds for 300 BLK is easier than for 308.
The 300 BLK cartridge is perfect for pistol size "cat sneeze" charges needed for subsonic.
 
I have one of the Remington 700's. Accurate enough, but the quality was lacking. It was the last 700 I bought. I might buy another one someday, but I think there is better rifles for the money.

As far as the cartridge, it's like a 45 acp, a 220 grain chunk of lead hits pretty hard even if it's going slow. I was having too many of the neighbor cats making it home with the .22lr. They don't make it home anymore.

My local Cabela's has a Remington 700 sps tactical with threaded 16" barrel in .300 blk for a good price. I was wanting the rifle, but will hold off since Remington is getting so many bad reviews.

Vanhornet, love the paint job. I love my RARR. I'll try to post up some targets of how well it is shooting.

I want that exact rifle sometime. Heard a lot of good things about it. Remington does have QC problems of late yes but that SPS Tact likely would be one of the nicest .300 Blk bolt guns you can buy. Stock is also nice enough out of the box unless you really itch for something more, is floated and pillar bedded. Not just saying that bc I like Remington but i've researched this alot myself. I wouldn't worry about QC control honestly if you do get a bad one by chance their customer service is pretty good and will fix it on their dollar. Also another good option is the model 7 300, but its more expensive.

AAC Remington Micro 7. Dropped 5 deer with it this year with 110 gr Varmageddon ammo. Currently waiting on a suppressor and have a box of Lehigh Defense 168 gr controlled fracture subs to try on coyotes in about a month or so.

This one was a 75 yard head shot. The others were behind the shoulder inside 100 yards...one dropped DRT and none of the others went more than 30 yards.

Good job NoName1! I have some Nosler 125gr BT loaded with Lil Gun that I hope to tag a deer with before our season is done here.

Anyone else own the Remington 700 SPS Tactical AAC-SD in .300 blk? Curious about the accuracy. I am being pulled more and more to the one my Cabela's has, plus it's at a GREAT price compared to all other prices I can find on the internet.
 
Thanks. I shot a few different factory loads right before deer season and was hoping for a heavier bullet to be the most accurate. A buddy had a surplus of the Varmageddon rounds and gave me a few boxes, surprisingly they were the most accurate. I haven't yet waded into the world of reloading, but I have a feeling this little gun is going to get me started.

I have one. It is amazingly accurate with handloads, it does everything I want it to. It shoots 125gr Noslers BT, and 130gr SP flat points to the same point of impact @100yards. It also shoots 220gr home cast lead into

That's awsome how accurate is your rifle overall and how does it perform and shoot? Seems really good. Also what is the scope?

Not a bolt but a break open. T/C Encore, got this set up for a youth with a adjustable magpul MOE stock. Been shooting the Remington hog hammers for deer. 1.25 MOA at 100 yards and has been spot on. I load the 110 V-max over Trail Boss for target shooting and practice, no recoil and no noise with the can on it, it's a tac driver at 50 yards, great for plinking.



My daughter will agree that the blackout is the ticket. In my opinion one of the better youth rounds out there.

On average with about 4 different boxes of off the shelf supersonic ammo it shot 1.5" groups. 130 gr Hog Hammer was the worst at 2" groups. This first round of shooting was at 100 yards and just laying in the bed of my truck with a few 2x4s to support the rifle, no sandbags. The 110 gr Varmageddons shot 1" groups hot and dirty a few times in a row, so that's what I went with for deer season. I zeroed it at 75 yards since that is the farthest shot I'd have and was more than confident on a head shot with a good rest (don't normally head shoot deer). That one stuck his head up behind a brushpile and was about to bolt...my 4 yr old daughter was with me...so I let it rip.

The scope isn't anything fancy, just a Sightmark triple duty 3-9x42 with the circle-dot-duplex reticle. I like it for night hunting because I stick a night vision clip on to the front of it for other jobs. I look at it as a 100 yard gun for what I do with it, so that scope works well. I'm hoping to have a suppressor in hand for it any day now, and plan to run that with the Lehigh Defense 168 gr subsonic rounds for night time coyotes in close quarters.
