Any CZ Rimfire owners here? EDITED WITH PICS :)

Been toying with the idea of replacing my fathers aging Marlin 783 .22 WMR that has killed hundreds of woodchucks here in SW Pennsylvania. I adore the cartridge and already have some ammo for it. A plus side to it for me is the cleaning rod that works perfect for my .223 and .22-250 works perfect in it.

Yesterday a local shop had a CZ457 combo .17 HMR/.22 LR and after picking it up, knew I had to have it. They seem to be hard to find and usually expensive when you do. Rather than buying a 3rd barrel for it for $200, I thought I might just shell out a few hundred more and get a second rifle.

Scope wise I am planning on putting a Vortex 2-10x40 Razor LH on one and probably a VX3i 3-9x40 on the other.

My question to you all is, what rings should I go with? I am not afraid to spend a bit on rings but I do not like the vertical split style that some manufactures tend to use. I know they are 11mm Dovetail, so what are my options and what is everyones preference

EDIT:
So I did pick up twins, one in .17 HMR/.22 LR and the other in .22 Mag.
Awesome little rifles. During and after the 25 rd break-in, they are already showing great potential. Both have 2 bodies on each already.
They are certainly good shooters and have no issue hitting ground hogs at 50-80 yds off hand.

I did end up getting Talleys and actually am quite pleased with them. I like that they align correctly and are very minimalist while still holding very strong. Nicely machined too.

CZ-455 Varmint in 22 Mag with a 1.5-6x40mm w/ill. dot. I do have a second 22lr varmint weight barrel for it when my wife wants to shoot in the off season, then it wears a 4-16 Weaver with a dot ret. It is a nice rifle, I did radius the front edge of the chamber as shell would hang up chambering, it didn't take much to smoothin it out. The stock has been shortened for me and my wife and the plastic butt plate replaced with an old checkered aluminum one off a an old Rem centerfire rifle..

I don't spend alot on rings and have been very happy with Monstrom and Burris tacticals

I bought a cheap set of rings off eBay so I could clear my sights on my 452 ultralux. I mounted a tasco 2.5-10 varmint mil dot. Crystal clear and cheap optic. They were blowing them out for $24.99 shipped. I have one on my nitro piston 22 cal air rifle. I’ve put over 3000 pellets through it and it hasn’t lost zero. I had some low rings on it prior with a leupold 2-7 vx1. It fit behind the rear sight. The optic was fuzzy at 25 yards to I removed it. It’s a tack driver with Winchester 333’s, cci stingers, and the 1650fps CCI cci stringers super shok that separate. All will shoot 5 shot groups under a half inch at 50 yards. I installed the tasco last year and never resighted it in.

I passed up a NIB CZ in 22mag. Kinda kicking my self for doing it. Like you day, they don't come around to often. I've had a couple of CZ rimfires and they all shot very good. I'm thinking the MTR might be the next one I get.

If you plan to keep the factory stock on this I'd get the lowest set of rings I could get and use those for this setup. The comb height on these CZ's is fairly low so keeping the scope as low as possible just makes for better alignment.

The Vortex Razor HD LH is a 1in tube scope and would be a great choice. I'm no particular fan of Vortex but I have three of their Razor HD LH 3-15's and I've actually been very impressed with their optical clarity.

I'd use Leupold medium rings https://www.leupold.com/rm-rimfire-11mm-medium-matte I have the 16mm version Leupold medium rings on one of my CZ 527's and they've been great.

Leupold and warne both make 11mm dovetail rings. Dont use 3/8" your scope will not be centered.
There are few companys that make rail that attach to czs. Then you can use a weaver type ring.

I radically changed my 455 Lux in .22 magnum. Of those changes,
I got a one piece scope mount from DIP and got rid of the rear
sight. DIP stuff is rather expensive, but they are top notch. I
see they now have a mount for the 457:

link, so click on CZ in left column, then Scope Mounts in the
Sub-categories.)

It was very nice to get away from the rimfire dovetails!! And
ditching the rear sight allowed much lower scope clearance.
Being in a rush at the time, I got Weaver split rings because
they were the only rings found locally. I intended to later
replace them, but they have made me happy, so they stayed on
the rifle.

Thank you all for the replies. Vertical split rings keeping the scope in alignment is a great point. I order two sets of Talley Highs from brownells so we will see how that goes. Spent another $60 on a cleaning rod, good brushes and a couple of mops for .17 Cal

one of the biggest reasons I never wanted to get into the caliber but I guess its a buy-once cry-once kinda thing.

How are they any different than other rings?

I'm down to 2 CZ rifles and both are RF rifles. One is an older Model 452 (iirc) in 17 M2 and the one is a newer Model 455 in 22 WMR. With both rifles I have replaced the gate hinge butt-ugly bottom metal that these rifles come with, replacing them with bottom metal sporting nicely designed machined steel trigger guards and well polished bottom metal.

I currently have Leupold RF rings on both rifles, and I'm totally satisfied with their appearance and function. On the older Model 452 I originally used the factory supplied rings, but I later changed them out for the Leupy rings.

I've long-ago cashed in what CF CZ rifles I had bought in the past. The metal magazine protruding from the carry/balance point of the rifle was more than I wanted to deal with full time. Just my opinion.

I don't care for the protruding magazines, either. If ever they
come out with a three round mag, that would sure help. Need no
more rounds than that in most hunting circumstances. I was very
pleased when Marlin came out with a shorter mag to alleviate the
problem in my 17vs.

I'm not bashing CZ as we all know they are nice fireamms and usually accurate. But, I'm not a fan of the mags either. I don't even mind the bass ackward safety either but I just can't cotton up to that set trigger. It makes me feel like I'm reaching for it and when it dis-engages, it feels like the bottom just falls out. I know there are resolutions and can even do away with the function but I just never cared for it. Would I buy another? Maybe!!

I am with you on the safety. That is why I haven't bought a centerfire from them yet. Otherwise, I would own at minimum a .204 and a Hornet. That was one of the biggest draws toward the 457 for me. The safety is American and very intuitive.
