Any Experience with a NC Star Red Dot Sight?

I recently acquired an NC Star red dot sight, and was wondering if anyone here has experience with one. I plan to use it on my Ruger Mark II .22 pistol.

What kind of base would I need, as my pistol is not drilled and tapped? There are no gunsmiths close by, so I was thinking about a B-Square type mount, but am open to other suggestions.

I don't really want a big heavy mount as that would negate the weight advantage of this small sight.

Any experience, suggestions, rants, criticism, etc.??

All help is appreciated.

Lowest I would go is the Weaver holo site. Even still, I'd rather have a Vortex. I think you will find little experience with that optic here, and even less positive reviews.

I know that's a hit in the gut but the comments are true ... I would do a goggle search or contact NC star to see what they offer or can refer you to . I know some comments may come out elitist or brow beating.. But I have slugged my may through the "lesser brands" and I just won't put my families safety or turn a great hunt into the gutter on a component that will fail.

+1

I have no experience with their red dot, but I did buy one of their 6-20x50 IR scopes back in my "Tacticool" days. I knew nothing about optics back then, but I knew that was a POS. The price difference between those and something serviceable just isn't that big of gap to even consider that level of glass in my opinion.

When I get the chance to shoot .22lr steel competitions, I use a BSA 44mm Red Dot on my Sig Trailside since the targets are pretty large and the dot is a 4 MoA...While it looks awkward, the weight helps the control of the super light Sig...

It now sports a Hakko that is very similar to the NC Star, but higher quality as far as durability and has a 1 MoA dot 4 way system and is very similar to the EO-Tech in operation..I switch to it for shooting bowling pin tops that are commonly used in matches held at the range where we winter in FL...

I have shot against some competitors that were using NC optics and they usually state that while nice when first installed, the reliability and durability left a lot to be desired and were generally considered 'throw away' items..
