Looking to get a pair of electronic ear plugs to help save my hearing. I use ear plugs and muffs when I shoot but cant wear all that when I hunt. Plus I shoot a brake and need some protection. Right now I'm leaning toward the DefendEar Digital 1 mostly because of price. Any experience with either please tell me what you think. Thanks Rick

I have used different Peltors models in the past.

When using at a range, you can put your soft ear plugs in to double protect your ears.
This is especially true if people are shooting around you with muzzle brakes.
They are comfortable to wear. I like over the top of the head and not behind the neck models.

The Peltor models, I do like that don't cost much, comfortable, compact, and they work for me for hunting use:

They are simple and work without all the big dials, etc.
I have tried others $$$ brands made specifically for hunting.
The Peltors were better in my opinion for comfort, hearing amplification, and hearing protection value.

YMMV
