I live in NE Ohio and I'm new to this sport.

Byron South said at today's seminar the best way to learn is to find a mentor to show you the ropes.

Anyone in NE Ohio ?

I live in Huron Co., just south of Sandusky and North of Mansfield. I'm kinda new to this too but I'm getting more addicted everyday. About to buy a new gun so I can get really addicted.

I live in Darke co ( northwest ohio)I am a relative beginner myself I have been doing this for three years. So far I have called in 5 yotes and 1 red fox.I just now am getting some really promising land to hunt.I can't wait to go next week.I am certainly no expert but there are a lot of guys on this site who are. the only advice I can give you is don't expect the hunting to be the same as the videos.most of them are filmed in texas or out west the coyotes tend to come in a bit slower around here and are reluctant to cross completely open land.Setup is 80% of the battle if you can't get a likely shot what is the point of calling at all.Above all just stick with it and learn from your mistakes.this predator hunting thing is a humbling experience at times.I think these guys are far harder to hunt than deer

Coot- I am in Jefferson Co. and just starting too. Read all you can on this site, watch the videos, but I think patience is going to be key around here. Only been out once so far this winter- too much work, and spent a lot of time deer hunting, my 1st priority when it comes to hunting. But I think I may get hooked on yotes too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hello, West Central Ohio and I have been at it now going on my 3rd year and still learning. Just got my Nephew into it this year and called in 2 yotes last weekend , he got the ole coyote fever real bad breathing so hard he fogged up his scope on the first missed shot and then forgot to chamber another round when he finally chambered one the yote was in overdrive missed his second shot. Had to laugh at him, he learned a very important lesson, PATIENCE it will pay off most of the time.

Henry County here, NW Ohio. this is my first year at coyote hunting and boy what a lesson. I'm doing every thing "Randy Anderson" would do except for one thing, he gets to see and shoot at them.I'm frezzing to death but getting more and more areas to hunt everyday so it just a matter of time.
Hang in there.
Porkey, you mean they wont cross open feilds like in the videos?

Hello, i'm in northeast ohio too, Columbiana county. I'm just now figuring this site out, 2nd time on. I've been calling for 5 years now with pretty good success. Biggest thing we have learned is that the setup is everything, and you can't call in whats not there..

Randy is the man

Coot you know me and with spring bass fishing coming on

I am thinking about woodbury on the 31st. and besides that
I have permission to hunt 4 new farms in N.E. Ohio to hunt lately. All with yotes on them 100%.
When the fish slow down I'm on dogs,I'll be in touch.
