I just bought a new 700 sps cheapy in 25-06 I dont have any glass for it yet but my dad has a extra scope its a 6x24x44 adjustable objective konus pro it doesnt look too bad my dad says its better than a bushnell banner but I just want some input, I have a leupold mk-4 on my 243 700 vls and that thing is just flat out awsome, got it at a pawn shop in texas for 600 bones, not too bad. I have used the bushnells and simmons and they suffice for 250 or less yrd shooting for deer sized animals however both of those scopes on my 30-06 i took out in the rain before and they fogged up bad, even though they are supposivly fog proof lol, bs. ive taken out my 243 with the mk-4 in the pooring rain in the snow ive even had the scope off and I filled up my bath tub and dunked it in the water and turned the target knobs under water and its like it just came out of the box. I would like another one however im not gana put a 1200 dollar scope on a 450 dollar rifle lol, plus I cant afford another one so give me some insight on a good glass in the 500 bones or less range. Something for 400 yrd or less shooting. in wet or dry weather with low light conditions.

I don't do Chinese scopes, of any flavor. Konus is based in Italy, I believe, but scopes are chinkwanese. If it is free, go ahead and try it. I wouldn't pay for it, though.

For $500 or less there are only 2 brands of scopes I buy. Leupold and Weaver.........

ive have 2 of the konus pros now aquired them through trade deals, i have 1 on the smokepole that i use all the time, i have some leupolds setting in the safe now not being used,im not saying that the konos is a leupold because it clearly isnt but it will do fine for what im using it for, never had it fog up even in nasty rains my 2 cents ron

I've had that very scope for 3 years now and it has been used on 3 different rifles and it works fine. I had it on my 204 for load development this summer. For the money I think its hard to beat. 1/8" click adjustments but its too much scope and a little heavy for the coyote hunting I do. Dave

Sightron Big Sky! Far better glass and warranty than what Konus offers.

The 3-12X42 AO & 4.5-14X42 AO should be around $540

The 3-9X42 for around $375

hmmmm, ill half to give the konus a try, one other problem I forgot to mention with cheap scopes in my experience is once i set them then ill shoot it like a week later and its grouping a few inches off. Wierd, I know its not me either never have that problem with my good scope, I figured maybe it was the mounting or something but no, I use only leupold bases and rings with lock tite. Ill give the konus a shot though and see how she does, if it does alright then hey I guess I get to keep 500 bones. lol and I mentioned 500 bucks because a couple weeks ago I was looking at the water fall under my barn I have a medium sized creek running through my yard under my barn and I looked at the bottom after a rain and I noticed something shinny. I hopped in there picked it up and sure enough it was a chuck of gold. Yeah, thats right I weighed it at .525 ounces, i diged around the same spot n didnt find any more but hey I found like 500 bucks under me barn cool huh.

I don't know how you get better than an over the counter replacement
warranty? The glass is very bright and clear, the rest of the scope is so-so.
When you center the clicks and look at it setting on a mirror the reticle is
way to one side. And it has to be adjusted over a ways to zero it taking up
a bunch of the vertical travel because of it. For 170.00 4x12-50 with a lit
reticle it is a good buy. I wouldn't put it on a game getter but for varmints
and targets it's fine. It's the only cheap scope I own. Not sure I would buy
one of their 30mm line though. That's a lot of money for a chinese scope.

I got a dozen Konus scopes in not all that long ago at the request of some of my customers. Hindsight being 20/20, I wished I never got that shipment. Their customer service is far from good. With 3 out of 12 scopes having problems, one shipment was enough for me!

bought one at a "spur of the moment" because i needed it "NOW" worked ok for a while, glass seems to have "spots" that make a new target look like it has already been used! Should of known better!
