When I chose my pup I wanted a female thinking that nothing better than a female in heat for coyotes and females have some trend to what to please more then males . delt with both and leaning more towards females

Anyone hunt females in heat? do you see a difference

only in the males!

my females usually act like they don't realize anything is different.

but hey, the scent in the air may attract a coyote. never know. we have a female heeler and when she is in heat the coyotes try to get to her in the yard at night. have seen them do it several times.

Yes.
But college was long ago and far away....

You HAD to expect these responses with a lead in like yours!

Seriously, no. My Purdy dog got spayed after her first time in heat. My wife couldn't stand the blood spots on her kitchen floor tile after the dog sat down.

A female in heat may have a tendancy of wandering off, so you run the risk of dealing with a litter of unwanted pups should you loose your dog while hunting.

no,but...... male male lab HATES it when i shoot a female coyote in heat. he starts drooling real bad and won't even look at me

jesse,

you now have me wondering if there is a morning after pill for dogs? LOL

Your right a female in season will wander looking for love just as a male will, I guess its in their desire to produce, I didn't think about it that way, if it becomes a problem then she will get fixed.

but someone must have hunted with one in season? wondering if there was a difference in how the coyotes acted,

You run the same risk with a stud dog looking for love.

All but one of my decoy dogs are females. I see no difference how coyotes act if they are in heat. My dogs come in before I start hunting hard. Then they come in after I quit hunting. The times I hunted them in heat there was no difference, they all want to kill each other.

I think there is a shot instead of a morning after pill....
