It is very,very difficult to transition modern smokeless powders to detonation. Yes they will burn rapidly. Yes they will burst the container. Yes, if the ignition temperature is reached, they will ignite, if they are sealed or not. Most 50 cal ammo cans will burst at a few hundred PSI (I read this somewhere on a spec sheet).

Negative. It will burn extreamly fast, but not blow up.

Negative. It will burn extreamly fast, but not blow up. It may or may not blow,the biggest factor is the type of container it is stored in and if its packed tight or loose..too many variables..The main point here is that gun powder is Dangerous!! and needs to be stored safely.
