Anybody loading AA-2520 for their AR-15

A buddy of mine was told by a friend that they had gotten great results loading Accurate Arms 2520, fast too, for their AR-15, especially with the heavier bullets. I plan on shooting Hornady A-max 60 gr. and V-max 75 gr. I know Varget is used alot along with H-335 and one of the 4895 powders but I was curious about using 2520. The first two places I checked for availability had it in stock too, unlike some of the other powders. I'm just getting into reloading and am having a ball! I'll get the pics of my new custom bolt gun posted soon, I just stay soo busy this time of year.
Thanks,
Bobby

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm new to reloading, only loaded for my .257Wby so far. Only need powder to get going on the .223, so I have to ask, Why the 2015 or the other powers mentioned. What do you like about them? are you pushing some of the heavy weights? Thanks for the info.

I know this is a REALLY OLD THREAD. The catch is I'm stuck at work and have a lot of down time. I use AA2520 in my AR15 (when I can find it) and it works quite well. 27 grains in a lake city case will launch a 53 grain vmax at around 3250 from my 20 inch 8 twisat barrel. 25 grains will launch a 75 grain BTHP just shy of 2750 from the same barrel. I don't know how stable it is but its never been a problem for me year 'round. When I can actually find some, I'll be buying more.

I inherited a large number of my late brothers reloads in 223. There were many different combinations of powder/bullets/cases/primers that he had tried in his 223s. My brother was a very careful reloader who kept records and researched everything. He had a number of rounds that he had reloaded with AA2520 and 50 grain VMaxs. I decided to try some in a Weatherby Vanguard Predator that I had got, and the result was a one hole group at a 100 yards. I believe the load is 28 grains. It is a fast load, and the only drawback I've found is a quite a bit of muzzle flash. I also tried a few rounds in an R-15 with the 18 inch barrel, and got good results as well. I'll probably shoot these up and then see if I want to duplicate his load.
