Anybody snaring coyotes.

The log is a non factor for snaring coyote, you need the trail narrow enough that the coyote can't step around the snare. The log MAY reduce the chance of a deer being caught, if the underside of the log is less than 20" above ground/snow level. Use a 3/8" rod to punch a couple holes in the ground on each side of the snare loop for some stiff weed stems. Make sure the center of the loop is over the center of the tracks.
Snare should fire when you push down on the bottom of the loop. I set snares from the downwind side of the trail.

I wish we had more snow . Do ya use a kill pole snaring? I use a 5/8 5 ft rebar. With a snare support welded on. And a anchor place on the rebar. We cant set a snare around a fence. Where they will get entangled in the fence. And have to use a one piece lock.
