There is "Mexican" food and there is "New Mexican" food. And then there is "Tex-Mex" and what I call "California-Mex".
All different, and all are good when prepared well. In that I am I a NM kid, I prefer "New Mexican" food over the others. Just a matter of taste and part of the heritage.
Admittedly, back in my trap shooting days at the OK State Trapshoot we went to a Mexican restaurant in El Reno, OK. First time I've ever been served macaroni salad with a chicken enchilada plate.
