I just bought it on Ebay for less then $40. So I ghot a great deal. But I am wondering about this unit. What can you tell me about it? I am trying to find out what type of batteries it takes but it looks like it uses some type of rechargable battery. Can anyone tell me more about this. More specifically if this is true does it come with a way to recharge the battery?

I have a Rio 800, and mine has 128MB of memory. I use throw away AA batteries, and I also have some rechareable AA batteries. I took my JS cassette tapes and recorded 1 min of each and loaded them on the Rio 800 MP3 player. I have around 65 sounds on my MP3 player. I sold both my Foxpro callers because I wanted to go this route instead. I use an Azden remote to make mine a remote caller, and I can easily use the Azden out to 50-60 yards which is as far as I want to place it away from myself. They are great you will enjoy it.

Can you repeat that? I didn't catch all that info. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif ....My goodness I hope you did not recite all that off the top of your head!

The features list is impressive. The recording capability got my notice. However, the reviews I've found of the 64MB version suggest that it was REALLY buggy... but that the 128MB version is vastly improved? They may be two very different animals performance-wise?

I copied and pasted the tech. specs from the Rio home page. I hope I answered your question. I have had personal experience with the Rio 600, and I wasn't too impressed. The sound quality was iffy, and the construction was weak. The black plastic piece on the back of the unit didn't snap in to place like it should have. Once in awhile it would just pop right off, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif After a few weeks of moderate use, this same piece just split up the middle???? What's up with that? Anyway, I keep hearing good things about these Rio's, so maybe I snagged a defective unit. I don't know, I'm sure that these things are ridiculously mass produced with substandard quality control. I guess you get what you pay for...

Thanks for the info guys. I just got through putting my calls into the Rio and tried it with the JS Pro-Convert a call and it sounds great! So I am happy. I bought it off ebay so it did not come with any software or the batterery or battery charger. Any idea where I can get one of the batteries and charger for the Rio?
