Anyone ever shoot a 4A reticle before?

I want to buy a new scope for night hunting and would like to get an illuminated reticle. Bushnell Elite 4200 (2.5-10 X 50mm) has a 4A reticle with an illuminated 1 MOA dot. I can't find anyplace around me that has them to look through. They are several hundred dollars cheaper than the Leupold, and I always like to save a few bucks. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them.

I have this reticle in all my Leupold scopes, 6 of them at the moment. I have several Leupold's that I purchased used with the standard duplex and shipped them off to Premier Reticles of VA to change them to the 4A reticle. I guess that says How much I like them. They are great for low light shooting especially with a non illuminated recticle. They are also great for running shots if you are inclined to take them. I've drop several deer on the run.

You and I are apparently thinking along the same lines. I have just purchased a new Mueller with #4 reticle and illuminated dot. Haven't mounted it yet, but if it works like I am hoping, it will be a great predator hunting scope. I like this concept. For the money, it's a good looking scope, though it's not in the same class as the Bushnell or Leupold. I've read some posts here on P.M. that they aren't worth a hoot, and yet others love them. We'll see. I got mine from EABCO.com. If it works like a scope should, then I will be one happy camper, and if it doesn't, then I'm not out so much money to feel too much pain. I really like this reticle and would like to see more scopes on the market with one just like this, and for a reasonable price that us poor boys can afford. I'm waiting for a new set of Warne quick detach rings for my AR, and will attach this scope and see what happens. If it doesn't work, then I understand Mueller has a great warranty and return policy. Not trying to sell you a scope, but just saying that I too like this reticle concept. The dot is all that lights up when turned on.

Ditto on the plus for this. I hunt big gmae with my Leo's with the 4A and love them all.

I have the same scope on my Savage .204 and love it. I'm considering the same scope for my new CZ 527 American in .233, but I just mounted a new Sightron on it last night and haven't shot it yet. I haven't shot the .204 in low light so I'm not sure how effective the red dot will be. You really don't need it in bright sun light. The Mueller is under $200 and worth it in my opinion.

I ordered up the Bushnell Elite 4200 with the 4A illuminated reticle this morning. Now I'm starting to think I should just get a new gun to mount it on, instead of taking off a perfectly good sighted in scope. I really want a Rock River Arms Varmint A4. Thanks for all of the help.
