Anyone have A-Bolt II Target/Varmint rifle?

I'm personally not hot for it..

Brownings make VERY smooth bolts, meaning they slide freely and smoothly; also like the short throw of the bolt handle. They(IME) have nice barrels in terms of groups, and not grabbing jacket material. The triggers are 100% creep free, but a little stiff even when adjusted all the way. I have bought springs from Erniethegunsmith for mine, very happy with the results.
Their syn stocks are about the same as all flexy crap factory stocks; although mine came glass bedded, the stock is still junk.
The swinging floorplate/ box mag I REALLY like.
The palm swell, that's individual, but is in a not good spot for my hands.

On this particular model the barrels I think are a poor choice. To me, if you are going to market to the Varmint/Target crowd; you need a longer pipe for velocity.

I agree on the barrel length but in my case I will be doing a good deal of fox hunting with it. So not having the super hot velocity may not be a terrible thing.

I am curious to hear more thoughts and reviews.
 
I've got one built in about 1996/7 chambered in .223 that is the most accurate rifle I've ever owned or shot. Five shot groups can routinely be covered with a dime. Prairie dogs fear this thing...
 
I have a A-bolt II Varmint stalker in .204 and a A-bolt II M1000 Stainless which is a target/varmint rifle. Its chambered in 300wsm. Both are very accurate. The M1000 has shot some amazing groups for a factory rifle.
 
i have an A-BOLT target. In 300 wsm. The single set trigger is super. I have not had a hard time working up loads. I have loads for 125,150 and 208 amax. The adjustable cheek piece is a nice addition to the gun. The only thing, I wish it were heavier. Its not bad now but more weight would be nice.
 
I have the Varmint Stalker in 22-250. Very accurate right out of the box. Very little load development was done before I had it shooting less than dime sized groups.
