Anyone have a Remington SPR94 Combination Rifle?

I am posting this for anyone in the future searching through the forums for scope solutions for the Remington SPR94.

The combination rifle/shotgun comes with a small dovetail rail on the top. It will not fit weaver or piccatinny mounts. 3/8ths inch rimrire mounts will fit but lack the real gripping power to hold the scope secure since you are shooting up to 3" 12 gauge shotgun shells through it. I have found some PM members drilling small holes through the dovetail tail s you could use standard mounts with the small bar running through the mount.

I personally purchased a dovetail to piccatinny conversion rail that is 70mm long and 9/16ths high to mount a red dot scope on. I opted to go with the Burris Fastfire red dot reflex sight due to its small size and wide window/field of view.

Conversion rail- $27

I was told by one of the Sales peopl;e at Gander Mtn that only the first couple shipments of these got through customs and that the ATF has put import hold orders on the rest becuse of some saftey issues, they did not pass a drop test. I wanted to oerder one and he said he could not becuase none are avalible until the saftey passes the drop test? That was from a sales person at Gander and he lookesd sort of bored so he may have just not wanted to do any thing that day too. I to am interested I think one of these would make a peachy night calling gun
