Anyone have a stoney point bipod??!!

I've had a couple of the *detatch for carry* models for years(sitting/kneeling length). One has the black legs, the other has the grey. The flexible rubber yoke has never given me any problems on either one of them. They have been excellent bi-pods and I really like em.

I had never seen any of the Rapid Pivots that stay attached to the gun until just recently. Maybe these are a brand new model that just came out? Anyways, I was owed some money and acquired 4 sets of the ones that stay attached for partial payment(all sitting/kneeling length). I kept one and sold 3.

I haven't played to much with the one I kept, so I don't have an opinion of it. It seems like it might be a handy piece of equipment, but it sounds like the quality is questionable. I'll know a lot more by about mid winter. Or earlier.

No worries about them breaking...no body's fault but mine. I do wish they came with instructions though...

Connecting the bipod to the gun was easy and the legs were in the folded up position. They looked like they would simply just fold down with a little pressure (it's just like a ball joint, free to rotate 360 degrees) but the catch was the legs have to be pulled straight out to release a little pin that is on the told of the pivoting ball (this is all in the yoke so u can't see it...until u break it that is). I just tried pulling the legs down and not with much pressure and the aluminum o-ring that is attached by the 4 screws on the bottom on the legs side of the adapter broke. No worries I'm think I can machine another (but it does have a nasty radii on the inside that may be hard) or just rig it up

Ive had a set of the older black ones for close to 7 years now and they have functioned perfectly every time. Some people say the rubber yoke breaks in cold weather but I have found that this problem is usually always on the newer grey model. I bought my cousins set off him last year as well so now I have two that are the same age and have seen a lot of use. Best bipod out there in my opinion. I cant comment on the newer ones that stay attached to the gun as I have not actually seen them in person. And as someone already said the left over piece just slides onto one of the legs as an attachment point for a sling to carry the bipod with.

I may be opening a can of worms here but......I have been looking to get a decent bipod for predator hunting. I am almost set on the new primos gen 2 trigger sticks. unless you guys can persuade me otherwise!
