Anyone have a Taurus Judge ??

I know, I have friends that say you can't hit a bedsheet with them and others that say you can. Don't like snakes. Still undecided though.. Thanks for the replies..

No Judge experience, but I've smoked snakes with the CCI shotshells in 45 auto in a 1911. They run the gun well also.

Whatever you decide, use small shot for snakes - #9's down to #12. You may have to reload to get this on 410 shells. Plenty of energy and mass per pellet to crack thru a snake skull of spine, and you will get a MUCH better, snake-killing pattern. #6 410 loads are for much bigger creatures with much bigger vitals.

Well, took most of your advice. Gonna run snake shot out of my G19 and carry another mag of H.P. I ordered a Howa Mini Action in 6.5 Grendel to protect myself from the coyotes and deer. I think that was the most logical choice....

All I can think is that the thing must be crazy loud. Rather let a snake walk than lose my hearing. Maybe a t/c contender with a 410 barrel would be better. Less noise, more velocity, and they are also popular among beaglers for rabbit hunting.

I had the 6.5 in 2.5 " chamber. Sold it to buy a 3" chamber. Now I have 2 with 4" barrels. I have done extensive patter testing. Out to 12 -15 yds, buckshot still at about 3' pattern. 8 shot opens up after about 8-10 yds. I have shot many snakes.with 6 shot at 6-10 yds with no problems at all. I have shot the LC with fair.accuracy. Not noticeable to carry. I love mine
