Anyone know who makes a .220 swift with a light barrel? Know of any 4-sale?

I have the urge to own a .220 Swift with a light sporter barrel. I have only run across two of them so far, to my knowledge. Both were Ruger M77 Mark II rifles. This seems like it would be a fun gun to have. Does anyone know of other makers who may have produced a rifle like this, or know of any for sale? I passed on one that looked decent at the Rapid City gun show, and I have a little remorse that I didnt pick that gun up, or make an offer on it. It was listed at $575

Look around, I snagged one the other day.

Ruger blued synthetic light barrel. Took some load development and torqued down the action screw before it shot decent but it is up to par now. Need to get another picture now that I have got it duracoated, started rusting as soon as I cleaned off the thick coat of factory oil. Looked all over the place using the model number and found talk of the model but nothing from Ruger.

It was affordable and available so I picked it up and would again but eventually I'll do like mentioned above and have one built on a Remington action.

I have one in the Remington 700 classic. 1993 I believe is the only year is was made. Will be the LAST gun I sell. $900 wouldn't even make me blink.

One of my LGS has two rugers with sporter barrels in 220 swift. They are the walnut versions. Another store right near me has one in synthetic. Can't remember the prices but I know the synthetic was a bit cheaper. PM me if you are interested and I'll give you the info to the shops

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say..........

Why don't you just build the rifle you want?

Get a donor action, buy the barrel you want and set it in a decent stock.

Yep...my sentiments exactly. The 700 Classic in the Swift is one of, if not the most sought after calibers in the Classic. I have one also and will never sell it. Bought it new in 1992. Funny how so many people not in the know perpetuate bad rumors about the Swift. Laughable! Mine has been a sweetheart to own.

I I had a TC a few years back with what they called a medium sporter barrel(slightly heavier than a standard sporter) and it was very accurate, I am sure you could get something from the custom shop.

Does anyone know of someone looking for one of these......I need to downsize. I have one of the classics made in 1992. I bought it NIB, put a scope on it, and fired 8 rounds through it at the range. Never hunted with it. It has been a gunsafe queen ever since. It is a limited run so I never thought I would sell but times and priorities change. Call Chris at 608-415-2778 if you have an interest. I will try to put pics and ad in classified in next few days.

A few years back - maybe 5 years ago? - Ruger turned out some walnut/blue rifles with a sporter weight barrel. You might look for one of those.
