Anyone like the .22-.250?

Now thats how I feel about the 22-250 .
Started out with a stevens 200 in 22-250 , should have kept that one. Then I got a savage 110 in 22-250 , should have kept that one, now I have a savage model 12 bvss in 22-250 . I wont be saying - I should have kept that one, AGAIN . Keep it pal . Gary

I never would have guessed there was so much love for this caliber. I never hear that much about it. I guess you guys just keep shooting them and don't say much.

It's hard to beat in my opinion. It does what a .223 will do and more. When you get out to 300 yards and beyond it'll out do the .223 easily. And you can wipe a group of baby prairie dogs out pretty quick if they're grouped up. One shot sends the whole group flying.

It was the first coyote gun I bought. If I knew then what I know now, I would have stopped right there. I'd be a rich man.

The 22-250 was actually the 2nd bolt gun I ever owned(30-06 was the first bought it as a teenager because it was a 30-06 lol) but I was able to get a older wood stocked ADL in 250 and I was in love immediately, gun was a tack driver with standard factory Win ammo and a run of the mill scope, unfortunately my house was burgled and that rifle was one of the casualties or I am fairly sure I would still have it.

Borkon U must still be using 55 gr SGKs to get those holes.:)
If you want to paralyze M like with your 17-204,consider 40 gr Berger Vs with 38 grs of IMR 4064.(careful,your 'itch' may vary).Shot a pile with that this year.

I got a little chuckle out of this topic.... it was kinda like asking "does anyone like leather pants" on a Harley forum.

Remington 700 .22-250 was the first rifle i ever bought new from a store back in 2004 when i was 18. Wore that factory barrel out pretty fast and in 2009 i put a 26" Mcgowen SS Select Match .22-250 9 twist barrel on it and used it for everything from 600 Yard F-class to deer hunting to coyotes and armadillos.
Now it sits in the safe since i do more hog hunting with an AR with Thermal and suppressor. I know the barrel is on its last half of its life so i dont shoot it much. Plan on getting it back out this summer and threading it to run suppressed along with building another Savage in .22-250 with a 22" threaded barrel.

I had wanted a 250 for years and finally bought one. It's a Tikka T3 varmint and was a solid shooter with factory Hornady 50 grainers but really shines with a stout load of Varget under a 50gn Vmax. I worked back to 650 yards and was continually impressed with how flat it shoots. It's a keeper for sure.
