Anyone out there shooting .277 Wolverine?

I got my barrel and dies last summer and have been having a ball with this little cartridge and was wondering if anyone else has been playing with it as well?

I got a big jug of 5.56 brass from the Department's training range so my cabin fever project for when I can't hunt is to make them all look like these beauties right here!

Yeah, I saw that nonsense. Its a pity that it apparently caused a stigma.

Does that mean that I'll get whacked if I talk about my experiences with the caliber? haha

Id love to hear how your wolverine shoots and what speeds you get from it. I'm Gonna research it right after this now that you mention it. I have 6.8 and a 6x6.8 and I'm always trying to chase more capability in speed and range in an ar15 size rifle. And what part of WI are you in?

The WLV won't get you more speed or range over a standard 6.8 SPC or a 6x6.8. It's based on a shortened 5.56 case and excels at hunting medium game at moderate ranges. It does very well at providing more than the 5.56 but still uses standard AR15 parts with the exception of the barrel.

The WLV nips very closely at the heels of 6.8 factory loads with 110g at 2500 +/- and 90g at 2700fps. It is close enough that I actually sold off all of my 6.8 related stuff to replace with the WLV. I'll tell ya, I am relieved that I don't have to worry about trying to find 6.8 brass anymore!

I'm in southeastern WI in Racine County.

Barrels seem to run around $200 or so. I haven't used any of their WLV barrels but the 6.8 barrels I bought were high quality.

6.8 brass is not hard to find at all.
