Anyone tried the new optic from DNT?

I tried to post a video of the 635 R in action but it is telling me the file is to large.. Its only 30 seconds..Im to dam dumb I guess to figure out how to shrink it..

So for those that have the Zulus scope, how long have you had it and how's it holding up? Also, I can't seem to be able to get the ballistics chart into the scope using the app. Anyone have issues with this?

Also, how do I get the ballistic table uploaded into the scope and know it's in there. When I go to the ballistics menu item on the scope I see my named ballistics table but am not sure it's actually in there. How can I tell it's been loaded in the scope? Do I hold the IR button down with the ballistics table name highlighted blue?

How do you like the 635? To me having only a 1.5X base mag is a killer.
I mainly only use the 635R thermal for Finding the target quick and shoot on NV, The 635R has an extremely wide field of view,.
I have the 335 R also which is a super nice optic also . They both live on Airguns..

I own all 3 thermnights. Let me just say I have owned a lot of thermals: nvision, pulsar, irays, rix etc. These are top tier. The night vision option is very useful here in the east. The ballistic calculator seems accurate . Easy to operate. When bump up the magnification on the 635, looks almost same as 335 when side by side. I have had zero issues thus far. The 225 is set up a bit different than the other two. I will say the 635r image is as good or better than the nox35. The reticles are good. The pip options are cool. Can use thermal and NV in the pip or the reverse. Or thermal and thermal. These scopes are best value on the net imo. Only wish they had a 640res with a high base mag, which I heard is comin.

(I just deleted the night pictures but i have a few day pic),
I’m running the Zulus IR HD 5–20x LRF on an AirForce Texan .308, paired with BARS 150gr slugs. It’s not thermal, but as a night scope, it’s outstanding. Once dialed in, it’s dead-on. Spot your target, hit the rangefinder, and the crosshairs auto-adjust based on your programmed ballistics. Pull the trigger—hit confirmed.

I tagged a 140-yard target and a 54-yard spray can without ever touching a turret or picking up a separate rangefinder. It’s that seamless.
I’ve even seen someone run this same scope on a crossbow—bullseyes all day at 60 yards. It’s a versatile, precision tool that just works. soon as I can figure how to do so.

I have the DNT Zulus 5-20 LRF but cannot seem to be able to get the ballistics chart to go active or actually work in the scope. I can upload the ballistics info from the DNT phone app into the scope. I can even see the ballistics chart under one of the profiles. But I cannot seem to get it to actually work. How do I get help with this?

Just ordered a Zulus 3-12 V2 non-LRF for close range..will be here sometime next week. Going to mount it on a Howa Mini 6.5 Grendel.

  1. Check Firmware Version
    • Make sure your scope has firmware ZHD520R – 20240626 or newer. Older versions won’t support full ballistic functionality.
  2. Enable Ballistic Calculation
    • Go to the Ballistic Options menu.
    • Select Ballistic Calculation (not just “Ballistic Table” or “Off”). This activates real-time calculations using the selected profile.
  3. Select the Active Profile
    • In Ballistic Data Settings, choose the correct profile (A–E).
    • Confirm that the scope is using the same profile you uploaded from the app. Sometimes the name doesn’t update in the system settings even though the data is loaded.
  4. Save and Exit Properly
    • Use the record and gear buttons to change values.
    • Long-press the left button to save each item.
    • Press the gear button twice to exit the menu fully—this finalizes the changes.
  5. Verify Holdover or Dial-In Mode
    • If you're in holdover mode, the reticle should show a hold mark.
    • If you're in dial-in mode, the reticle should shift based on the ballistic data.

🛠️ Still Not Working?

  • Some users found that after a firmware update, the scope still showed the old ballistic profile name even though the new data was active. If that’s your case, try re-uploading the profile and reselecting it in the scope.
  • You can also check out DNT’s official setup guide for screenshots and button walkthroughs

Thanks for the help. I took a look under System settings > Version number > Ballistic table name.
I'm running version 20240626 V2.0. When i connect the phone app to the scope it does not say there are any updates available so maybe this is the latest firmware version.

I've watched videos where the ballistic table name shows up here in the system settings menu but mine does not.

When I range a target I'll get a little green mark on my red reticle that shows holdover so I guess it's working? Just curious if others have had it where the ballistic table name doesn't show in the system settings menu?

Do you have a Facebook account? A friend of mine works for DNT. In the system settings for ballistic table there should be letters A-D to list the different rifles and their ballistics. Is that what you're talking about?

I purchased a ZulusHDV2 and thought it was pretty good so, I ordered a second one. Arrived with a bad mount. Mount was twisted and would not snug down on my rail. Contacted customer support and they sent me a new mount immediately, no hassle, no problems and everything was fine. Because of customer service and satisfaction with the first purchase, I went ahead and purchased a TNC225R and the problems began. The thing was a piece of crap right out of the box. First up, it would not focus enough to give a clear picture. BAD OPTICS!!! Then after about 4 minutes of use, the control pad ceased functioning. Couldn't even turn the unit off to recycle. Had to remove the battery. I didn't even have a chance to register the warranty on the garbage. Who the hell registers warranty before they try something out to make sure it works anyway? I called customer service immediately upon returning home from the range expecting the same level of care as before but, what do you think happened. Their representative never even heard of me. Kept asking if I had even purchased the door stop direct from them when he new damn well I had. (we had had several conversations prior). Was told that I could overnight the brick back to them and they would look at it and MAYBE do something. I would have to pay the shipping and insurance. I told them I was going to ship all the junk back to them and wanted my money back. After almost chocking on finding out what shipping and insurance costs would be, I decided to just shitcan this crap and go buy something reliable, better supported and truly functional. GOODBYE DNT! Thanks for wasting my money. Stay as far away from this company as you can. RUN, don't walk.

I have the 2 5 x 20 Zulus LRF and 2 3 x 12 LRF HD ....and just received the TNC 335R like the other poster here
I have Armasights and Pards and Sightmarks etc...

The DNT line is as solid as it gets ....the TNC225R I will caution you is NOT the same performance with regards to the '
NV using the Sony Starvis chip as the HD NV =Zulus scopes as they had to literally throttle back the performance to
make it sync with the thermal ....so thats that ! it is noticeable if you own the others ....otherwise you'd be oblivious.

The new 335 and 640 versions are wide open ....The quality of the image in NV Digi mode is so dynamically vivid and clear
that these scopes are sought after ...They are that good...

The DNT app with B calculator is a full on ...very well thought out app and it carries over to the accuracy of the Laser range finding
placement of the ballistic firing solution .....its accurate .....and you can tweak it to your load by adjusting the BC in the app
accordingly .

Do NOT hesitate to buy one....If you don't have the extra coin for the upgraded 335 or 640 the 225 is still a solid performer
my buddy and another just ordered 2 of them ....

I also wish they would somehow get a lil lever on the lens for the Thermal ....in the dark there is alot going on in the field
and these are very involved ....you must spend time with them to be versed ...
I know this is an older thread, I'm new here and new to NV and thermal and just starting to figure out what I want to get without breaking the bank. Looking to get a set-up for a 22LR mainly for rats in the barn/coop and other critters in the garden, so a wide FOV and crisp digital zooming at distance is not all that important since shots will be 50 yds or less. Thinking about the TCN225R but was also looking at the Rix Storm 2, mainly because it can be zeroed and moved to more than one platform. I couldn't find anything from DNT that showed they have this capability. What's your though on the 2, is it worth having that option or better to stick to the DNT for better overall quality?
