Anyone use a pelican gun case for scoped AR?

OK guys, I bought a Pelican 1750. It just arrived today and it sure is nice.

My next question, is anyone ever worried of the airline losing your gun case when flying? Is there a way to insure it or something? Airlines have lost my gym bag and it's no big deal, but I would hate to lose my $1200 AR and my $500 pistol in my $200 case.

You really have to be careful about the locks. In our airport American Airlines won't let a gun case with only a TSA lock fly. The rule being you are the only one able to open it. Also don't be shocked to see a replacement limit on luggage. Hardly makes a dent in your replacement. I wonder if the NRA firearms insurance would cover part of it?

Ya I am going to put my own locks on it. Maybe I should call my insurance company and see if it's covered under my renter insurance?

Post some pictures up once you get the foam cut out. I'm also considering this case and would like to see some more ideas in the layout.

Yep.I have a Pelican 1750. Got my 204 Sabre in it.I'll post up some pics. It's a butcher job but it works for now. Luckily I can get the foam inserts pcs. for free. Also have it set up for another upper. Can fit my LRF, and a few mags as well. Currently I have three or four Pelican cases. Can't remember. Looking to buy another in a couple weeks.
