anyone use hodgdons lil gun or alliant power pro 300 mp for 357 magnum??. that lil gun looks like it moves that bullet with less pressure. they both look like good powders for a hunting round. Dave

I use Lil'Gun, in my 458 SOCOM, and started playing with it in 44 Mag. pistol rounds. Clean consistent powder, that unleashes the capabilities of the 458 SOCOM.

I also load 28 ga. shotgun shells, but have not tried Lil'Gun in shotgun ammo. I have too many good powders for 28 ga. now, and am not looking for a new one there. Although my understanding is Lil'Gun would be a good candidate, if I were searching for a new 28 ga. magnum type powder.

Hodgdon load data does show some nice velocities for heavy bullets in the 357 Mag, for Lil'Gun. Given my experience with it in other cartridges, I would certainly give it a shot in the 357 Mag, if I had one.

I've used 300mp in 300 blackout, 454 casull, 475 linebaugh and 500 JRH. I found it can act close to H110 in my 500 JRH you can actually put enough in to smother the primer(large rifle). It meters nice with the exception of my lyman dps auto trickler it will gum up the works. I think it honestly has better applications for small rifle cartridges due to how it meters over handguns where H110 works just as good if not a little better.
