I have shot 2 yotes with a factory Glock 22 in 40 S&W... both were jumped on deer drives and about 20 yards away so there were no pics taken... I am currently looking for a Contender or Encore in .223 to start calling with though!
Very cool that so many hunt with them, looking forward to getting a few predators/ varmints and possible deer with a pistol!
Hear, hear. Having more fun with this MR Picuda/8-26x Horus than any other combination i've had for awhile on prairie dogs. Believe it or not i can reference 600 yds. with this rig with 75 MOA in the reticle + 60 turret--
You guys have some very fine looking varmint rigs. Mine are / were much simpler.
Years ago I had a wonderfully accurate T/C Contender, 14" .223 and a Burris 7X pistol scope.
A lot of groundhogs hit the dirt from that one. Like a fool I traded it off. Wish I had it back.
This groundhog was taken with a .30 Herrett Contender.
I also scoped a Ruger Single Six and used the .22 mag.
Back when my eyes weren't so bad, when I could actually see a sight, I used revolvers
like the S$W models 66 .357 and model 29 .44 mag.
I've got a couple I want to scope this year. A single six dedicated in 22 mag & a MK III hunter. I've given thought to scoping my 357 mag also but it's more of a door/home security fun. There are some good looking pistols here & some cut down rifles people use in a pistol configuration. To each his own though with those guns, not hating on them by any means. Just not my cup of tea.
Have been carrying for a about 4 years now with a S&W 22A while on the trapline and it slowly transformed into me hunting with it. We don't have any chucks around here but have a couple p-dog towns and plenty of rabbits and squirrels and in some areas plenty of armadillos.
This past summer I acquired a Dan Wesson 15-2 .357 magnum by cutting down some trees into firewood for an elderly gentleman and have been carrying it while coyote hunting and and have taken some armadillos and rabbits with it.
This whole handgun hunting thing is sure growing on me
