Anyone use Truglo 2X42mm Red Dot?

I'm debating whether to put a Truglo 2X42mm Red Dot (3MOA) on a short barreled 243. Its going to get wet often, and mostly be in Pacific NW rain forests. At the moment its got a 3x9 which isn't that great for quick pickup on a moving target in this muck. (I usually don't hunt clear cuts because there are to many imbeciles "scoping" everything they see.)

Anyway I dont have the $$ to throw down on a real holo sight and a 1x holo may not be enough magnification for 200 yards anyway. (That said a 1 MOA dot on a holo is going to give better location than a 3MOA on a x2 Red Dot if you can see the target at 200 yards)

I've had great luck with, of all things, a tasco red dot on a 10/22 (it has held zero for a few thousand shots, though many years and much banging around), but have never held a x2 red dot (I can't seem to find one locally to look through one), and am not sure if they will hold zero from a .243 kick. I don't think a Tasco is up to the task at hand on anything bigger than a .22. Truglo claims they will and in fact guarantee their's will, but I want to know if anyone here has actually tried it, and what was the practical range from it.

My .243 does have standard sights on it, but the red dots are like night and day as far as target acquisition to target line up go. (For me anyway) Either way the 3x9 scope is coming off, and I'm looking at options for something up to and around the 200 yard mark.

I have the 2x red/green sight on my turkey shotgun. it has been on for 3 seasons now without any problems.
