Anyone used one of the new Sims Limbsaver Recoil Pads?

Idk what you mean by new, if they just came out with something special this year... But I've been using their pads for many years, I love using their slip ons as an easy way to gain length of pull.

They aren't going to make a 500 nitro double barrel fun to shoot, but they're nice and I haven't had problems with the slip ons falling off to one side or slipping around when pulling guns up quickly.

I currently have one on my 44mag carbine and I believe my long range 223 is wearing one.

I think the one I got is called Airtech. It says it's a newer version of the original and supposed to reduce recoil by 70 percent. I'm gonna put it on a Tikka T3 Lite Stainless in .243. It's a mild caliber anyway, so it should be really mild now.

Get us a pic of that airtech and let us know how it feels. The limbsaver pad I ran on my super black eagle for 7 or so years spent plenty of the waterfowl season submerged too, I've never had them give up, so it'll be interesting to hear how yours does.

I put a limbsaver pad on my .300 win. mag years ago and it absolutely made a difference in felt recoil. If I had any more large caliber rifles, I'd put the same on all of them, it worked that good.

I have a limb saver on my 300win mag savage that was 7.5#s and metal kickplate.. Ya, after a few shots, no one wanted to shoot it. I put one on it and now it's fine for 10 shots or so.

I also put a blackhawk shock absorbing stock on my mossberg 535. I think that it makes a huge defference, and after firing it, i can see that its moving about .5 inch when firing the 3" hornady coyote shells.

I've been recommending and installing Limbsavers for years. Great company that really stands behind their products. I don't use anything else on my own rifles and shotguns.

They are nice, it does exactly what they claim. I personally don't think it is any better than the Remington X-Cell or the Kick-Eze pads as far as felt recoil reduction goes. I will say that the Limbsaver seems to hold up better than the Kick-Eze which is very soft and will split if you are not careful. I will also say that the Limbsaver is a very good fit for the stocks they are made for. Haven't install any of the grind to fit ones yet but cant imagine an issue.

I've got one on my Rossi 30-30. It was the slip-on, airtech type. Pretty good! I've got one coming in for my Savage 7mm-08. THe new one is more the classic, precision fit. I'll have to report back on how it feels.

Curious if any limbsaver owner has had a problem with its material softening and becoming sticky. Mine does this and it was installed on a rifle about 4 years ago. Fellow shooter at range has had the same problem with Limbsaver.

One of mine did. It got downright nasty.
I have a couple more (all newer ones) that are fine.

I'll be the odd man out here: I jumped on the sorbothane bandwagon years ago, and went back to the ventilated pads. When it starts to get cold outside, the solid pads get...well, solid. As in like a rock when real cold. The rubber ventilated still crush to absorb recoil.

If you call Limb Saver they will replace those bad recoil pads for free. I had two that would stick to every thing. Called Limb Saver and had two in the mail with in a week.

I use Kick-Eze on my 12g.Does a great job but it's harder than others I looked at.Not going to split these.Lot's of heavy 3" and some 3.5" loads bear that out.

It happens from time to time. Simms will replace it free and will even install it for you if you send them the stock. That's why I like Limbsavers. Great company. Kickeez won't give you the time of day. Also, I understand that Simms makes the pads for Remington.
