Ap-7 delivers

After posting my question to Randy I ordered one of these calls an chistmas eve. It got to me by saturday mourning. I drove the wife crazy practicing around the house until last night. I took a 15 year old hunting and in less than 10 min. he had 2 grey's on the ground. Thanks for all the great info. on this site. My 25-06 was not fur friendly at all though.

Thanks Randy now I am going after some dogs to see if I can get a few! I do have another question though. Not with this call yet but I have had dogs respond and raise cane. They sound like they get a little closer. They never seem to come closer than 800 yards (guessing) this is with a rabbit sound. What type sound can I switch to that will bring them on in!! Thanks again good hunting. The dogs where I am have been called by farmers and teenagers pretty much anyone with a gun. Lots of them have probably been called in and shot at before about the only time I have good luck on coyotes is when juveniles are around.

Hey coyote, what loads do you use in your 25-06? I just got mine in and I need some input from folks that have shot critters with that round before. Thanks and congratulations!

I reload with 85 grain nosler ballistic silver tips. If you don't reload you can buy these they are loaded in winchester supreme. I have very good luck with this little bullet I use it for deer hunting also. If you hit near the heart area on a deer with it they either don't run or don't run far. The farthest shot so far was 438 yards by range finder on a big doe for my part of the world! I think these rounds would not be very good on mule deer you might have to go to the 115 grain!

You might change to a woodpecker, or maybe try some coyote vocalizations. Unfortunately, when that many people are messing with them, they get fairly smart. Try the howler...Randy

Yes Randy you are exactly right they are very call shy and are also educated with a degree! What I have wondered about though is whether calling them in the early mourning hours would be better or maybe even in daylight. I have never called in the daylight but it would not be something these yotes are used to either. I am going to give it a try and keep you posted. Thanks Robert
