BRUTAL!! Had to resize all of them and re-upload them to photobucket.

Got our J&T order in yesterday and splayed it all out on the floor to sort stuff out..

Some pics for your enjoyment /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
Top kit is their Fluted heavy barrel kit. Second down is their Wilson Air Gauged HBAR kit (sweet setup and light too!). Next 2 are their Lightweight Tactical kits modified to have FF handuards and stuff. Next one is a Std A2 Upper lightweight tactical. Next one is their std A2 kit and bottom is a lightweight tactical upper with the handguards deleted for a tactical rail.

This is my new coyote getter. 16" Fluted HBAR (lightweight tactical to them), ergo grip, ace skeleton stock, badger tac latch. Estimating it weighs around 6-6.5 lbs. Compared to my 20" fluted bull barrel with scope at 10.5.

Could you list all of the componets of the last pic of your Coyote getter? Source of each component and price?
I want that exact rifle. Would realy appreciate it.

They're not all mine!! Went in with a bunch of buddies to get JT's wholesale pricing which you need 3k for. Once you get to 3k you just need to make a 1k dollar purchase a year to keep it. Or hit 3k again.

Pretty substantial savings over their standard pricing if you can go this route. Just call and talk to Judy and ask her about dealer wholesale pricing requirements. She'll hook you up.

Hunt2Hunt -
That's their 16" lightweight tactical kit. I upgraded the gas block to the weaver style, Free Float National Match handguard, Ergo grip and Ace skeleton stock. JT now owns ACE so as an upgrade it's a pretty cheap.

My price was around 550 for all of that. I'm not 100% sure what the retail price comes out to be. Guessing around 650 or so.

You can build that 20" Wilson HBAR for 480 at wholesale pricing. Start calling your buddies!

SDV I may send you a message later next week. you built my dream rifle Dude.
Why someone would buy a stock AR for twice the cash or more is nuts.
I came way too close to buying the Remington AR..good thing I found this website and was saved.

There are things on that Remington that would cost you no matter who does your AR. For example: If you want the camo like the Remington you'll fork out around $200.00 more, if you want a decent single stage trigger you'll need another $150 or more. I suppose, if your handi you can drill and tap the hand guard for accessories, if not you'll pay a per hole charge for a gunsmith to do it. Then you need to purchase special assembly tools for a kit AR ...... Yes you can make a basic AR for significantly less money, but if you want something special no matter how you do it, you'll pay more.

I was looking hard at building an AR for myself, after adding up the camo, the special barrel contour, a decent trigger, the stock and grip I liked the price came close to what I'd pay for the Remington and the odd part is the Remington is almost exactly the rifle I wanted to build, right down to the 22" barrel and contour.

Michael is right, If I wanted to camo dip my rifle it would cost quite a bit more. 200 bucks or so.. I have swivel studs that fit into those slots and lock in. That takes care of the bipod/sling issue if I need one. Not sure that I need a rail for anything but looks. You can drill and tap the aluminum handguard with ease and add pictinny rails if you really want.

If I wanted barebones I can build a plain A2 for 400.

The only special assembly tools that you need to put together any of these kits is a needlenose, some electrical tape to protect the finish and a pliers.

SDVmnt-

A few questions about your set up, if you don't mind. What brand is the mag that you have in the yote getter pic and how does it differ from the metal ones? Do sling studs come on the ACE skeleton stock. Is that winter trigger guard from RR. Thanks in advance.

Cade, it's a Magul P-Mag with window. They're built with the Magpul followers, are stronger than the steel mags and are just plain cool /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Google them and you can probably find more specific differences.

The Ace stock comes with Swivels and it's a Rock River Trigger guard. Soon to be replaced by a Magpul trigger guard. Much better looking IMO.

Hey SDV, got an idea of the final weight on that HBAR kit assembled? I've been looking at putting one together but was curious what I'd end up with weight wise.

Ahhhh Now your just showing off!!
If you were a chick I would call you a tease /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

The gun without scope came in at 6.5 pounds. That's on the digital bathroom scale so I'm not sure if it's 100% accurate. Close enough for the wife I guess and she's pretty [beeep] picky! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
