AR prices today

I haven't been looking at all, and wondered.

How are AR prices today compared to, say, a year ago?
You know, Pre-scare days, on Bigger name brand ARs.
Rock River, DPMS and such.

Right about what they were before, from what I've seen anyways.

.223 ammo is finally getting back in stock too! Just waiting for 9,40,45, and .22lr. Oh, and everything for reloading.

Shelves are full of AR's here at pre-panic prices as well. Ammo is slowly coming back...slowly.
Reloading components coming back as well, but even slower than ammo, and still at elevated prices.

We are seeing the same here, as well. I am in the middle of a build, so it is looking easier to buy a complete rifle than to build. Stripped uppers, barrels, and BCGs continue to be slow to back fill. I was able to get a DD barrel coming my way (should be at the house, when I get home), but my stripped upper has been on order for a while.

Anyways, for a whole rifle, the prices don't seem to be too bad, with greater selection everyday.

A lot of guys bought ARs at post-Newtown prices and are still trying to unload them at that price. Dealers and retailers should have them at much more realistic prices. I see guys on a local forum trying to unload DPMS and Bushmaster rifles - plain-jane rifles, at $1200-1500, with no buyers. Right now, it has become a buyer's market, so figure accordingly.

SW in town has at least 40 AR15s & some AR10s in the racks, wallyworld has 5 in the store...sitting there for 3 weeks now like SW.
From $650 to $1300
Ammo is hitting the shelves every week here also.

AR prices close to pre-panic prices. Ammo still tight. I paid $800 for 1K green tip a month ago. Glad I did.

22LR I still can't figure out. I bought 500 Aguila subsonic from Midway yesterday for $52 that cycle in my suppressed SW HP 15-22. Out of stock and no reorder already. Trajectory like a mortar round but the chipmunks have never complained.

Geez,
I'd like to find a Colt 6920 on the shelf for $990.

Rock River PP's as many as you want around here for 1150.00
Cabela's had untold numbers...guessing 75+on the racks

Our local Wally World has those Colts for $1200+, as of last week.
Bushmasters were $1000+.
Diamondbacks were $847.
DPMS (which they were out of), were $660.

Ammo of any caliber was non-existent.
Only a small amount of shotgun ammo in stock.

The only "gun shop" in town...no ammo & outrageous gun pricing...but that's been normal for them for 30+ years. I really don't know how they stay in business. High prices, super-bad attitudes, ect.

Ironically, the only place in town that has any ammo in stock, @ decent prices, is the local Ace Hardware.

The pawn shop or Cleves?

Has Gypsum Valley been staying stocked up? Prior to us getting into the industry, I was always impressed by their service, pricing, and availability for being a small gun shop.

We've got 50+ AR's on the wall as we've finally been getting stocked back up over the last few months, plus quite a bit of depth in the back. Prices are about the same as they were prior to the "panic". We typically price ourselves a bit under MSRP.

Ammo has been hard to get for sure. We sell more ammo locally than firearms lately. Earlier this month we sold a pallet of 22LR bulk packs in only a handful of days to local guys only. Its pretty crazy how hard ammo is to find still.

Any signs of the complete NF lowers coming back down close to where they were?

Maybe? We don't control that end of the supply system. Prices from the molder went up and thus also went up at NF. Our inputs on these lowers are much higher than the batches a year ago so our retail prices are higher. If our cost lowers then yes the prices will come down a bit. That's all speculation though.

Cleve's is who I was referring to.
Although price-wise, right now I wouldn't buy a gun of any type from any of the Salina pawn shops. I know that back in May, Bob's had USED Colt ARs for $2000+!!!!

Truthfully, I haven't been into Gypsum in a couple years, so I can't answer about how their business has been. I always thought Thad was a decent guy to work with.

Smoky Valley, just south of Lindsborg, looked to be decently stocked on guns...when I was in there the other day.
Didn't look at prices though. (I wasn't looking for a gun, but a scope.)
Their ammo was mostly out of stock on all calibers, as well as reloading supplies.

Prices are down, but just went to order a DPMS LR-308 and it still has roughly a year back order. Guess I'll have some more time to find a good scope haha

You'd be better off ordering from a retailer than direct from DPMS due to the backlog.

We have some DPMS LR-308Ts in stock right now. However, I'm not sure what model you're after currently.

Ordered from my local gun shop who is a DPMS direct dealer.

I am looking for DPMS #RFLR-308
