AR scope option for eastern coyotes

I am looking for some insight on scope options to mount on my AR (Oly Arms K-16 w/SS bull barrel) for eastern coyote hunting (KY). I am just getting started with the coyote hunting - shots within 250 yrds; I already hunt deer/small game both w/gun & bow. Below are a few of the scopes I am looking at - all feedback is welcome.

Bushnell 1.5-6x44 Trophy XLT 30mm Rifle Scope FOV-66' $135
Burris 2-7x35 Fullfield II Rifle Scope FOV-45' $139.95
Burris 2-7x35 Fullfield E1 Rifle Scope FOV-45' $179.95
Millett 1-4x24 DMS Tactical 30mm Riflescope FOV-90' $199.95
Vortex 1.75-5x32 Diamondback Rifle Scope FOV-68' $179.95
Vortex 2-7x35 Diamondback Rifle Scope FOV-64' $189.95

Thanks Gerald

Gotta love a good deal on a solid scope.

I like the Burris E1 and the vortex 2-7 viper out of those choices.. I was faced with the same decision to make last summer on a new AR that was going to be strictly a yote calling/hunting gun. I went with the Burris XTR 1-4x and absolutely LOVE it.. Pricey.... Yes... But I have really enjoyed the scope.

Speed you are going to be hunting terrain similiar to mine. In 25+ years of calling coyotes my furthest shot to a called coyote here in IL is a whopping 173 yards. I think the choices you have posted are spot-on. Just one thing I would like to share.........coyote hunting in the east can be very fast and you definitaley want a scope with a large field of view but consider scopes with the circle/crosshair type reticles. They are not for everyone but scopes like the Redfields w/accurange and the XLT's with the circle/X really help guys like me make shots on moving targets. I switched over to the Redfields a couple years ago and I think they are the first sighting device to actually make me a more effective HUNTER not bench shooter. The biggest mistake you could make is getting a scope with really fine crosshairs. Early in the morning and in the evening (when you should be hunting) you MAY not be able to make out the crosshairs on your target. My opinion

There is a 1-4 Millet DMS in the classified adds right now for sale that the guy would like to deal on...

For your area,,its like ohio,,i would not go below a 3x9,,due to the fact itll do everything you want,,and lower powered scopes are great for close stuff,,but lack quite a bit at 250.

Considering your price range,,the 3x9 Redfield accu-range ret.,,would be one smart way to go...and not look back.

The only one I have that's on your list is the
Millett 1-4x24 DMS Tactical 30mm Riflescope FOV-90' $199.95
and it has been very good to me.

The illumination is not all that bright in the sun, but that is not a problem.

I just pulled a Burris 2-7 off the AR had a Leupold 2-7 put it on then pulled it off and threw a 3-9 a buddy gave me to try out yeah it was new a Barska I never heard of that before but so far so good for a cheap scope it will hold me over til I get the Nikon I want that is currently out of stock at Cabelas... Probably because it was a good price ....

thanks everyone for your insight - I will more then likely go with a 2-7 power scope and a red dot combo set-up- I am ready to get started coyote hunting, can't what. thanks Speed2473

Another not on your list but worth a look is Leupold 2-7+33 heavy duplex. The heavy duplex shows up great in low/no light. Small lightweight, good glass.

If you are going to use an offset red dot, why not up the power? The Viper looks like the Mueller Quickshot that OldTurtle loves.
