going to be assembling my first lower and Im wondering what wrench, if I need one, would be best?

mainly do I need one to install the buffer tube(fixed stock on this lower)? and is the same wrench used to install barrel, flash hider? Im not going to be doing an upper yet but possibly in the future.

I can get a DPMS wrench in town for about $35

thanks

You will need to get a barrel wrench unless you buy the tool with all of the wrenchs on it . The cheaper ones just have the castle nut and flash hider on one. I bought them both separate because its easier to get my torque wrench on the barrel one alone.

You do not need one for the lower, lots of ways to tighten the nut for the buffer tube. Assembling the upper would depend on what hanguard you choose if you need the armorers wrench.

ok maybe should have started out with this but would this be exceptable?? tube is from a RRA a2 operator if that matters.

that is the rear end of the tube. seems like it would work?

You can usually thread in the tube by hand. The buffer retaining pin is going to limit how far you thread that in anyways, so nothing to torque it onto. The castle nut is what will hold it in place and you can use several tools to get that tightened.

Friendly tip: Most people over torque gun parts. Everything from action screws, to scope rings, to AR barrel nuts, etc. No need to gorilla wrench the thing. Use a good torque wrench and look up the specs.
