I have to push the trigger in my AR15 forward sometimes to get it to fire. It is a new parts kit I just installed. As far as I can tell everything is correct. If i push the trigger forward I hear a click and it is ready to go. Also who sells the best trigger for under 100$?

What parts kit is it? Can you take a few photos of the trigger arrangement with the hammer locked back, and also up? Sounds like something is a bit hinky in your trigger.

One of the better bangs for your buck in a 2-stage trigger is the Rock River 2-stage National Match for $94.95. If you want a single stage, the Spike's Tactical Battle Trigger we've been selling like hotcakes for the carbine guys. They seem to be pretty popular, but I've never used one myself. For your purposes you'd probably be better off with the RRA and/or reduced power JP springs at least.

Sounds like you are missing the spring that activates your disconnector.... You might go to Brownells website and pull up their schematic for AR trigger group and see if yours is in place...

RRA match triggers are about as inexpensive upgrade as available, but you might do your own search for a better price..

I think I got it. The trigger was stiff so I took it apart and cleaned it with some steel wool. Put just a dab of lube and seems good. Other than the 8 or 9 pound pull. Thanks for the replies.

I'd make sure to function check everything. I was trained (Army) to always function check your rifle after cleaning by cycling the control group as outlined like in this guide:AR15 Function Check Guide. If you have any trigger problems or are tearing the rifle down and reassembling, etc, I'd definitely function check it to ensure proper safe function. You won't need to do the burst/auto check unless you got a real expensive toy in your hands

+1 on Bill he has done one of my triggers and he has the other one at his shop. I have one of the Spikes triggers on my carbine. It is a good trigger for that application. I would probably put something else on if it were a hunting rifle. The RRA is affordable but wouldn't be my first choice. If you are going to bother replacing your trigger I would just wait until you can afford something better.

Make sure you have your trigger spring and disconnector springs both installed correctly. You should not have to push your trigger forward to get it to grab the sear surface on the hammer and you should not be at 9 pounds with a decent lower parts kit.
