Arca swiss mounted gun clamp?

Amazon. 24 hours later. It is nicely made for $32. No, it does not solve current drawbacks of a shotgun in a clamp. But it is an option. And can use on standard stocked rifles without easy Arca Swiss mounting capabilities.

Was concerned about the size of the triangular knob and being able to adjust it freely on the Fat Boy Levitate mount. Zero issues- passes easily.

For reference: The clamp will not go narrow enough to tighten down on the Remington 870 20 gauge youth model metal receiver. And clamped on the receiver, shell ejection is blocked due to height of clamp sides. Easily clamps to the fore stock. The clamp has decent amount rubber grip on both interior sides and the bottom. It does spread quite wide. I could get accurate measurements for those interested. Will take this on the hunt as an option. Will also take the old BOG adrenaline with the rubberized "Y" rest to be another option.

Another issue: I bought the Fat Boy 2 stage/2 leg section Elevate tripod. In the simpliest set up configuration it might still be too high for my son to shoot from sitting position. That means flipping the little thingies at the top of the legs to spread the legs further making the stance lower. All good right? Well, that takes up more valuable floor space in the camo tent. Hoping the lad says no to the tripods all together and mans up to hunt without them. Leave tomorrow. He is excited. I am too!

For night time thermal use on my Leofoto tripod, I tighten the screws that attach the legs to the bowl enough that they stay put where ever you set the legs w/o using the notches. Easier to get the right height in the dark by adjusting the spread of the legs.

Everybody has an opinion, so here is mine. If the kid needs a rest to shoot at a turkey, he's not ready for hunting. If you have to clamp the gun down and all the the kid does is pull the trigger, has learned how to kill, but he has not learned much about gun handling and control.

Sitting, a shotgun clamped on a tripod really limits your field of fire. My personal opinion is to get couple boxes of low recoil target rounds and a box of clays. Set the clays around in a semi circle at various distances and let him practice. If the shotgun is too heavy a set of cross sticks the rest it on would work easily abandoned for extreme angles if needed.

I have a bog clamp head set up with swiss acra plate for a quest that doesn't have a rifle set up with a plate.
