Are electronic callers OK for Coyote in ID, OR, UT, WA, WY, MT? I assume hunting licences are required in all these states to hunt coyote.

Thanks,

No license required in UT or NV, electronic calls allowed.

Wa requires a license, either small or big game, electronic calls allowed for coyotes.

Nevada requires a license if you keep them.
Idaho requires a license and electronic calls are allowed. Can use E-calls in Wyoming also.

Legal in Montana. No hunting license required, but you do need a Conservation License and a State Land Use Permit if you hunt on any state land. If you are only on private you will not need the ladder license.

LEGAL IN IDAHO FOR PREDATORS BUT NOT FOR WOLVES AS THEY ARE CALLED ($#%#$%$#)BIG GAME AND YOU HAVE TO HAVE A LICENCE

Hey,guys. Thanks a million. I'm retiring and want to get back into varmit hunting. I'm looking at a $399 Wildlife Technologies electronic caller. Anyone have one or know about them? I was at Cabelas the other day and they sell FoxPro but I've read mixed reviews. Any ideas on this area would be welcomed. Maybe it's like Fords and Chevies...personal preference?

I have a couple of mouth calls but I need to practice up.

BTW, you're right about the Idaho wolves. They've wiped out the elk where I used to hunt. Bad stuff reintroducing those things.

Great info and good news about varmiting in states in this area.

By what you wish but I'll say one thing you will NEVER find anyone that stands behind there calls like FOXPRO will. Yes I've had a few things go wrong but they sent me a user call till they fixed mine. Find that some where else. One time
Mike just sent me a brand new call with all the up grades.
NO CHARGE. Ask if any of the others will do that and I'm just a no budy. Just a guy that likes to call.
Hope this helps.

Been calling with a Fox Pro FX3 for about a year now, has performed flawlessly, great sound quality and volume. Used mainly in the Southern CA desert areas, so it gets a fair amount of sand and cactus abuse. It replaced a Johnny Stewart e-caller which used the wire and speaker and cassette tapes. It worked great also, just to much hassle compared to the FP.

You guys are showing no licence in UT,NV,MT, and WY. What if you are from out of state? Do you need any permits then?

SVG, let me clarify. Non residents can hunt coyotes in UT, MT and WY with nothing more than a hunters safety card from their home state. NV is also included in there but only if you don't keep any coyotes you harvest. Hope this helps, Tom Austin

Coyote, jacks, a few others, prairie dogs etc, no license required by anyone.

We don't have a 'hunting license' like some states do. For big game etc. you just get a tag for that species. I think it's kind of odd some places make you get a license just to hunt and then another for deer, another for elk. Seems like the general hunting license is just money they want. Well, I KNOW that's what it is, but seems odd since I've never had to go through it.

Yep, your right. They just want money. I have never hunted out of state so I was ignorant of other state policies. You should see what they charge my brother from TX when he comes home and wants to hunt...154.75 for the licence this year, and 416.00 for elk tag. Thats crazy for someone who just wants to come home to hunt with dad...

I saw an enormous coyote cross the interstate and i've never seen so many dead rabbits on the road and those stupid antelope I thought they where like livestock there where so many. turns out they where all wild. I have to say everyone should go to WY and stay out of CA and OR we don't have anything to hunt around here except yuppies.

problem i thought with wyoming was the game laws almost as bad as colorado. Oregon, nevada, and california are much more simple and relaxed. I guess they want to preserve wy its a pretty awesome place. The tetons are amazing.
