Armalite Scope Mount on my AR??

Has anyone had a problem with their scope becoming loose after a short time while using the Armalite Scope Mount?

My scope was actually wobbling on the mount where it attaches to the flat top. Is the a special way I should have it mounted? Torque, etc. Any advice would be appreciated. (Of course, now I have to go to the range to Zero the rifle once I can identify the problem)

I just mount the base on while holding the gun resting on the butt so that the base is held against the notches by the tit on the bottom of the base. I then use a wide screwdriver or skinny piece of metal to tighten down the thumb screws.

Mine came loose that way once. I wrapped the thumbscrews with a rag a tightened them with channel locks. No issues since.

I shoot a 308 AP4 with that mount so recoil is a problem. I am not sure if movement would most likely be to the rear or to the front. My first guess would be to the front due to the bolt slamming shut. That was a problem on Mini 14s in that the bolt was heavy and knocked the cross hairs out of scopes. Of course on a Mini 14 you did not have enough accuarcy to need a scope.
