armasight predator 336 2-8x25

I don’t see this thermal talked about much. Anyone have experience with it? I’m looking at the differences between it and the Hogster-r 25, which seems to have close to the same specs. Prices are about the same too.

The Armasight Predator was the model before the Flir PTS 233. The PTS were supposed to be a step up. The 223 doesn’t have near the image of the Hogster, at least when the humidity is higher. Armasight was bought by Flir so they don’t make them any longer.

Thanks Korey,
I do see them still listed on Flir’s website but your saying they are no longer in production? Also from the specs it seems to me the predator would have been a step up from the pts 233 at least in the low end 336 that I was looking at.

I have never used an Armasight device, nor have I checked the specs. The comments I made were based off reading lots of other comments from other sites of people who used them. I am on vacation so can’t do my normal research. I’m not aware of Flir manufacturing any Armasight products. Most of the places I looked said discontinued. One difference will be 384 res versus 336.

The predator works good, I killed a bunch of fox and a handful of coyotes last season with one. IDing coyotes out at a distance was difficult, but I have the Helion for that task.Willing to sell. I've upgraded since.

Like korey started the pts is a step up from the armasight predator. Specs are ok to stare at but better specs dont always mean a better image. From what I've read from users the hogster is the way to go when comparing the group.

After looking closer at the specs it isn’t as good as the hogster. I just came across it on flir’s website listed as the Flir Predator, and I didn’t realize at first it was the armasight.

I am brand new in the thermal game, still looking to get my first one actually. I have just been trying to read and absorb as much info as I can before I commit to buy anything.

From what I can tell the Hogster’s are really the most scope for the price point that I’ve seen! That is without actually having seen one in hand, just going off others observations and videos at this point.
